Hey guys, first post!

I was just wondering a few things.

I want an Android phone but in Australia the pickings are slim. All you can really get locally are the HTC magic or the Samsung Galaxy. I really want to get something with at least 1.6 so:

Are any android phones coming out in the next month locally?
Or (probably better) what phones could I import and still get 3g coverage here (only thing holding me back from getting a nexus one)?

Thanks, Fergus

HTC’s upgrade to their original HD mobile phone was released in November in the US, but has today been released in Australia.

The phone, which was one of HTC’s first to ship running the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, features a 4.3″ inch high definition screen, Bluetooth support, 5MP camera, support for the Windows Marketplace app store and runs HTC’s new “Sense UI” - the companies ‘layer’ over Windows Mobile that provides a more intuiative and interactive experience for users.
Of course one of the key selling points of the Windows Mobile OS is the close integration with Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher) and support for Microsoft’s commercial email server software, Microsoft Exchange. Also included with 6.5 is the new free Microsoft My Phone service, which allows you to backup your phone’s contacts, locate your phone if you lose it and access your contacts and text messages from anywhere online.
“The HTC HD2 is one of the most advanced and intuitive phones HTC has ever created,” said Anthony Petts, Sales and Marketing Director ANZ, HTC Corporation. “The phone provides users with the winning combination of Windows

I have ordered my nexus one and I am with 3. As soon as I get my hands on that I will let you know about the 3G coverage.

As far as I know 3 uses 2100mhz spectrum which is well supported by nexus one.

Therefore, I don't see any thing to hold us back. :)

THAT IS THE GREATEST NEWS OF THE YEAR!! No really, if all is good you have made this the greatest moment of the year so far (at least until I unbox my nexus one!). Also are you getting it imported from the states or UK?
