Problem sending mms

Hello...

I bought the HTC Hero, yesterday. I've already learned a lot about it from the posters on this site. I do have a problem, hopefully a simple one, that I'm not sure what to do about..

When I try to send an MMS, when it comes time to hit the menu button and then attach, there is no attach button to hit. I get all messages, quick text, compose, send, delete and insert smiley.

Am I missing something?

Appreciate the help...Scott

Thanks...

Yes I am using the stock messages app, and do not get a paperclip or any other way to attach pics to a message.

I stopped by my phone carrier today, and they told me that this phone doesn't yet have the capability to send mms.

Sound right?
ahh yes....sounds like you need to set up the APN settings...your carrier should help you with that

Did you ask for the APN settings? Who is your carrier?

They told me that there was an update coming up, but that they had been saying that since November. My carrier is Ntelos, which is one of the smaller ones, but one that does well where I live in West Virginia.

Are apn settings something that I can ask for and fix myself?

They know best...had a quick look on the net and from the looks of it you will have to wait for update but the good news at least there will be one. Keep a look out on their Website and HTC.

I too am with nTelos and ran into the same thing on my Hero. Of course the manual has the info for sending mms, but the settings options for MMS are not available in the current firmware for the phone (1.55...). I spoke with someone from nTelos today and they informed me that the update is due out this month (June 2010). Maybe this upate will allow the voicedial app to work as well. Hopefully the update is out soon. Be sure your contacts are linked with Google Mail or you have them backed up.
