Importing Droid Pro to UK/Software update question **

Hey guys,
Had my eye on the Droid Pro for quite some time now. Was waiting for the EU release but apparently that has been canned.
I'm tempted to import it but I have a few queries..
Has anyone already imported it to the UK and if you have, have you had any trouble installing updates? How would one update it on an unlocked Droid Pro on a non Verizon sim?
I've read an article stating the Droid Pro might be getting the gingerbread update and I would definitely want that. Just not sure how I would go about doing it if I was on a UK carrier.
TIA
James

I'm interested in this issue as well, I'll be getting one soon into Europe and I wonder if I should make sure the update is done in the US ( DPro seems to be getting the gingerbread update from yesterday or early today ), or if it won't be a problem doing the update from here with a non-vz sim card ...

Anyone any positive/negative reports ?

It can be unlocked and used with any carrier SIM outside of the US, so on that part you should be fine. For the updates, I would bet the only way to get them is to flash using RSD tool when they are available. There is already a rooted Gingerbread file out there from TeamBlackHat that some are loading with success. I'm still somewhat of a novice, so just throwing in my two euros.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Looks like my best bet would be to buy one with 2.3 pre-installed. If not, I better look up the TeamBlackHat version.. I assume there is a stock rom out? As I'd want to flash it and just leave it. When I had my desire, I was running LeeDroid and couldn't stop myself flashing every latest update etc. Was a nightmare!

The Black Hat's 2.3 update is a rooted version of the stock update. You don't have to worry about flashing updates to non-stock roms on the Droid Pro. There's only one (semi-functional) non-stock rom that I'm aware of. There isn't a developer community for this phone to speak of, so you'll be running stock even if you don't want to.
