Quick question..

anyone know why the free Locale beta isn't showing up in the market anymore for me?

Has it been pulled? I don't want to pay $10 for something that was free a couple of weeks ago, especially when it did everything I needed it to.

Any idea if its available anywhere else but the Martket ?

As I had to replace the phone (bad headphone jack) i seem to have lost all the old downloads i had previously. None of them auto restored.

Dude, off topic, but that's happened to me twice. Same thing happened to a friend as well. I've had my third Droid for a week now... we'll see if this one lasts.

But, yes. The Locale beta was free because it was a beta. The paid version is a bit pricey, but I think they are donating profits to charity.

Locale was available as a limited beta, which has now ended. It is best to think of the beta as an experimental prototype, rather than some sort of free version of Locale.

Locale 1.0 has hundreds of improvements and is significantly more reliable. With Locale 1.0, you're getting great ongoing support and lots of new features coming with future updates!

Thanks,
Carter

The beta is expired anyways and will not function. the developers did a 1984 on it. There wasn't even a warning that it would expire until *after* it expired and stopped working. way to go dev, piss off your potential customers. your app isn't worth 10 bucks, especially since the beta is regarded as superior to the supposed "full version"

I just dealt with this two days ago. I didn't know that the beta had an expiration date, so when I went in to change something... BAM!... no more locale. I scoured the Market for hours to find a decent replacement and almost gave up, but came across Silent Time Pro. Very simplistic, and did exactly what I wanted (situations based on a from-time and a to-time, as opposed to providing separate profiles for sound on/off). Pro version is 99 cents and adds Exceptions functionality. I fully recommend it.
