Just wanted to introduce myself to this section of the forums.

I'm pretty new to Android, been rocking an LG Optimus M since the end of April. I have her running a ported CM7 rom and overclocked, totally customized.

I'm completely hooked on the platform, and should be picking up my nook Color in just a few hours. I can't wait to get it rooted and customized, then this old laptop will be put up on the shelf. :D

Anyways, just poppin' in to say hi. I'll be talking with y'all soon.

One word of advice, don't show off your rooted NC to anybody that’s not tech savvy because they will want you to root theirs for them. I made the mistake of bringing my NC to a family gathering and the next week I had to root 3 NCs. Two of which had been updated to 1.2.(this was a little harder to root)

B)

But, no, it's not stolen. He just sold me another one he had on him (his personal) and he'd use one of his others. He has a couple of 'em, apparently.
Where they off the back of a truck down by the railroad tracks?

You know, B&N sells these things. Pretty easy to get. Don't understand why someone who has many would need to sell you his personal one.

Oh well, I don't have to understand. Enjoy.

You don't have to understand, but here's the whole story. I work at B&N, so does the guy I bought it from. Until very recently, we did not get any discount on any nook items. He bought several, I think to have one stock and one rooted. He decided not to bother rooting the extra(s) and several months ago offered it to me at a discounted price. I still couldn't afford it so it sat.

A few weeks ago, employees started getting discounts which put the new price where his asking price was. As a result, he gave me a better discount. I saved quite a bit over a new unit, that's why I didn't walk into any B&N for one. ;)

Not to mention that the only advantage of a "new" unit would be the full one-year warranty which was promptly voided within an hour of bringing it home. This Nook is like-new, no marks and came with its box and original accessories.
