Getting tired of my music and looking for some new tunes. My music is pretty eclectic but in general I like hard rock, indie rock some electronic but not most and most forms of metal(not including what the douchebags nowadays are calling "hardcore"), or anything that is either very unique or displays amazing amounts of skill. But never country or hip-hop. Any suggestions? Some bands I like a lot are(in no particular order, rhyme or reason):

***EDIT***
Listed a lot more than I was going to, I figured some of you might be in the same boat as me and so along with asking for some tips on other great music I am turning this into a recommendation thread. I love every one of these artist/bands so if you need new music, check em out! I have found that Youtube is the best way to do so.

Oh wait, I just saw you like Lady Gago. Sorry, disregard my suggestions. Theyre for people with taste and ears. :p
HAHA such people would not be listening to hip hop sir! They would be listening to music with singing... and instruments... that requires actual talent. :D And if you are about to say Hip Hop requires any talent whatsoever, I invite you to listen to anything by T-Pain, Flo-Rida of Solja Boy.

Thats not hophop. Thats mainstream trash set for idiots. Just like lady gagoo. I listen to things like Atmosphere, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Brotha Lynch Hung, KRS-1, Del The Funky Homosapien, Tech N9ne, MURS, ALL of the Marley boys, and so forth. Mainstream trash is exactly that. If youve never heard of The Roots...I feel bad for you. ?Love is a DOPE ass drummer.

Edit: OH! Saul Williams too. Hes a dope ass spoken word poet that puts his music to beats of all types. Dont speak on what you dont know. ;-) Music isnt your strong suit my friend. lol. I listen to everything from Jazz to metal. My first concert was Exodus and more than likely if you saw the Devildriver comment on this forum, it was me posting their video:p

I'd say the epitome of true music would be classical music, operas, etc. Pure instruments, pure voices, pure sound. Nothing fake. :) It's such a pity that less and less of the populace even desire to listen to music of the fine arts anymore.

Id have to slightly disagree with you bruh. Id have to say Jazz and Blues is the epitome of true music. Not only does they capture the creative portion of music, but they also embody the entire "Emotional" system as well. Ive never felt classical like that other than the connections with family growing up. More so with Blues, you can FEEL the emotion.

I'm loving My Darkest Days lately. And Hollywood Undead. And for some reason the new song Bounce by Emphatic makes me turn the radio up too. Haven't listened to anything else by them but possibly worth exploring more.

I went to see Tech N9ne, Swollen Members, Kottonmouth Kings and (hed)PE a couple of years ago and Hollywood Undead was there. They went on after (hed)PE and before KMK. The place was full during (hed), but emptied out for Hollywood. They didnt sell shit from their merch table either. lol. Theyre terrible.

That's why there are so many bands - everyone likes something different. :)

The only thing that matters is what music you like. Don't care about what music others like and dislike as it shouldn't affect you at all. I'm sure top editors in the fashion industry can give us all a good schooling on what's fashionable and what's not but that doesn't matter if we're forced to wear things that we don't like. Same thing goes with top movie critics. I'm sure we all have our movies that would be "trash" to them. lol :) Perceptions of what's "good" music and what's "bad" music is all based on the individual. I personally never listen to hip hop as I don't like it but I like listening to pop music because that's what I simply enjoy.

Don't bother arguing with him, he believes his musical prowess is unparalleled in this universe and that everything he doesn't like is music for idiots. Thus if you don't agree with him on music, you have no ears and no taste. He said so a few posts up.

Wasn't going to argue. It's not worth my time. Gave my opinion as asked, gave a simple observation and now will ignore. I will follow the thread tho in case anything pops up that sounds good.

Different music appeals differently to different individuals. I would not pretend to say what moves other people.
Years ago I listened to Rachmaninoff #2 shortly after the death of a very close friend. I can not begin to describe to you how moving this listen became for me. It was almost overwhelming, but I just could not turn it off. It had a hold on me. It was like nothing I had heard before or have since. I have had near similar feelings with opera, mostly Pucini.
I have listened to the blues for decades. I grew tired of it as it became repetitive and derivative, ie Stevie Ray Vaughn is kinda just doing Albert King.
One thing that might account for an under appreciation of classical music is that so many people no longer go to concerts. It is difficult for home systems to reproduce what is heard in a concert. It is not as hard to reproduce what is hear at a rock concert.
all above IMHO and YMMV

Hey, have you listened to the 11 year old prodigy Jackie Evancho? I can't find any word that can describe her and listening to her songs gives me goosebumps. I don't generally listen to classical (I'm not that classy, I'm more of an Asian redneck). I think the fact that her CD has debuted at #2 beating Adele (another singer I simply adore.. and I saw you like her too) and Lady Gaga.

I'm sure you will like her.
