Im going to start off saying that ..Yes... I was "Lurking" on this forum for about 3 weeks, but only to get information and support from this great forum. I just now joined, and now im going to be more involved.

Anyway, I got my droid about 3 weeks ago, and its been amazing, best phone ive owned so far.(Went from Tour) However, I have been having slight problems, lately the phones slide out keyboard seems ALOT more loose and is always pushed up when its in my pocket. This is annoying because, when someone calls me the screen gets glitched in a almost landscape portrait mode.. I think its because one day i dropped the phone and it bounced a bit, has a few scracthes but its in 100% good condition still. Is this keyboard being loose happen to everyone?

The more important problem, my phone freezes frequently, sometimes it wont even wake. It just gives me a black screen and i have to do a battery pull to get it to reboot. This has happened twice today. I do not think this is normal, if there's any way to prevent this please tell me your ideas! Hopefully my phone isn't totally screwed up :/

Thanks for your help guys, and its nice to be apart of this forum!

Replace it. Defective unit. Slider should not be loose and should not freeze that easily.

That's what I thought, this shouldn't be happening.. Eh, I doubt I can take it back to Verizon though. Being that I bought it brand new from Ebay.. (Before anyone assumes anything, the phone was still sealed in the box so it cannot be blamed from the Ebay seller)

I guess I just got unlucky.

It is still under warrenty. You will still have to take it to a verizon store for verification of faults. I would not volunteer the dropping of the phone part unless asked and it is obvious and then I would down play it a little. Reguardless it has a one year warranty, take it back now.

Alright, Thanks man. If it happens again I will head right there. Now all there's left to do is hope the Refurb isn't as jacked up as this one..

Appreciate the help :)

if you think having your keypad slide out a little stiffer will help, search around for the place that sells the plastic things to put on the backside of the screen piece. that should make sliding the keyboard out not so loose.

Well It wouldn't help my situation, but it does become a frequent annoyance for me. Thanks for the tip man :) I will definitely check this out.

Yes, take it back, but DO NOT mention that you dropped it. Even though that probably has nothing to do with the issue, best not to give them the chance. You'll get a new phone if it's been less than a month.

Yeah, within the first 30 days they usually give you a new one? I'm assuming you are still within your 30 day trial period so just return it. They shouldn't hassle you since you're technically not obligated to keep the phone, right?

He bought the phone off ebay, so unfortunately the 30 day trial period does not apply. It does have a one year manufacturers warranty though, you may have to take that up with Motorola, but I would try Verizon first.

I hope so. However, if I do return it will they give me a refurbished? Or a new one?and if I'm not in the month period, what will happen?
Most likely they will just verify it is damage so Motorola will send you another. Verizon is just a middleman. Call Motorola first and I am sure they will want you to go to a Verizon store first for verification, says them senseless shipping if there is no real problem.

This won't work unfortunately. I had a problem with my Droid a while back. I called VZW and got a really clueless tech that didn't understand that I had already gone through the troubleshooting process. I just wanted a new phone shipped, but she insisted on calling Motorola. We all had a nice chat for a minute or two, then the VZW tech hung up for no reason.

The Moto tech said they'd be happy to honor the 1 year warranty. I just had to ship them my phone and they'd repair it, or ship me a new one if that failed. Oh, and it would take 2-3 weeks. Umm... no? Told her no thanks and called VZW back. New tech had a clue and got my new phone shipped immediately.
