Go Launcher. It is good.

Hey Charge users. I just got Go Launcher. If you find your TouchWiz experience to be too choppy but don't want to lose any functionality, try out GoLauncher. You don't have to be rooted and there's absolutely no risk with using it. The launcher itself is way more responsive and doesn't have the annoying stuttering when sliding between homescreens that the Charge tends to have. It still has the pinch function to arrange home screens and you can add plenty of extra home screens to fit all of your needs, as well.

I especially like the long-press shortcuts. If you long-press an app it will pop up with a list of options such as rename, uninstall, delete, etc

Oh and if you're like me and you actually miss the TouchWiz Feeds and Updates widget (which is actually pretty damn good) then try out Pure Messenger****

**** See my post near the bottom of the thread for my updated impressions of Pure Messenger

Love the Go Launcher. If you haven't tried it yet i would also recommend the Xscope browser. Way faster than the others out there.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

Oh and to users who want to most closely emulate the TouchWiz feeds and updates widget make sure you use the Pure Messenger widget that has "Scroll" in the title. The non-scrollable one kinda sucks. I downloaded all of the skins and while I haven't tried them all, I do like the Sense skin for it.

Launcher pro also works like a champ on this phone. If you get the paid version, the widgets all have custom skins available. I love the bookmark widget on LP. I also really like go launcher.

Just a word to the wise, if you choose another launcher make sure you have your previous launcher screens wiped. Even if you do not have the stock launcher showing, if you have widgets that update still left there, they will do so. "home switcher" is a great app that lets you go back and forth between launchers to make sure a program is not running on the stock launcher. With home switcher you can set your default launcher to Go launcer or LP and it will aways bounce back there.

I've been using Go Launcher for a while now on all of my phones and I've tried Launcher Pro as well. I personally prefer Go Launcher.

Go Launcher also has widgets now such as Message, Contacts, Calendar, etc. They are separate downloads under GOWidget.

And the countless number of themes are awesome! If you really do like TouchWiz, there is a TouchWiz theme that you can download for free.

It definitely makes the phone smoother!

Is there any way to retain that nice Weather Bug widget that comes with TW? Not the Weather Bug widget that shows up in your widget list, but the one that's there when you buy the phone.

I tried LP and didn't see a way to keep that.

No. You can look on the market for a similar widget. But with any of the launchers you loose the use of TouchWiz widgets. No real loss really.

The weatherbug free app on the market is pretty good. It's basically the same functionality but doesn't look as nice.

Also, I greatly prefer Go Launcher over Launcher Pro.

I hightly recommend you get Beautiful Widgets. It's MUCH better than the Weatherbug widget that comes with TouchWiz and it's super customizable with hundreds of skins.

Ok, I'm kinda new to all this. What I don't get is the need to wipe my screen/widgets/apps??? before installing a new launcher. Can someone explain this part to me? I also have Beautiful Widgets installed. Do I need to uninstall that or something? Please forgive the dumb questions.

I think you need to delete all the widgets on Touch Pro because they run in the background and can drain the battery. So blank screens on Touch Pro then run your Go Launcher .. I thought I read that one of the posts somewhere. Hope that helps ;)
