move from flexpay to postpaid

Couple of reasons.

On flexpay you're essentially pre-paid, so you pay for everything up front and if you are late on a payment, suspension. You also don't have the ability for overages and anything extra you want (ringtones, 411, more than allotted minutes) you have to have money on a flex bucket.

Also, let's say you upgrade to an Android phone and need to add the data plan. With flex pay you have to pay from the current day to the end of the billing cycle, and then the next months data plan in advance. So it puts an immediate financial burden on the customer when wanting to upgrade to a newer phone.

With flexpay on a contract you are limited to two lines (this does not apply to no contract, then you have a three line limit). With postpay I've personally seen 21 line limit on a single SSN.

You also have a larger Equipment Credit Line, so you can put more of your phone on your bill rather than pay upfront. Current limit on Even More is $500, Even More + is $1200. The most I've seen on sexy flexy is $200.

The only reason people choose to be on flex pay is if they do not want/cannot run a credit check.

i disagree that the only reason is that people do not want/cannot run a credit check. i originally signed up for the flex pay option because it seemed easier to me. my credit is above excellent.

when i found that there were issues with the flex pay account that i could not accept i ran my credit and was aproved for up to five lines.

here is a big issue.

i have a nexus one and wanted to take advantage of google voice. especially when it comes to the voice mail. (tmobile has not gotten their visual voice to work yet with the nexus.) the catch is with google voicemail you need to have your voice mail number set to googles through call forwarding...BUT...there is no call forwarding with flex pay accounts. i did not know this untill i tried to set up my voice mail. the vm worked fine but my missed calls were going to tmob's vm and not googles.

in short i had to change to a postpay to get call forwarding.

this is kind of b.s. because i pay for everthing unlimited. all the csr reps i have spoken to have stated that they have no idea why a flex pay account cannot have call fowarding especially when it comes to unlimited plans.

there are other issues too, but at this time i thought i would point out just this one.

No that does not fall into the do not not want category. Its not that I wanted or did not want my credit checked. It was simply that I never considered it an option. I just made a decision that flex pay sounded easy enough to me. I asked what the difference was and I was told nothing except one pays at the beginning and one at the end. (Turned out not to be true.) I really didn't care when I paid. Therefore credit checking never was a want or a do not want issue at all.
