finally managed to downgrade from gingerbread back to froyo and root my phone.

i am now attempting to backup the rom using Rom Manager. When i click on the backup option and enter the filename i want, it restarts my phone, at which point it shows a picture of a phone with a red warning triangle in the top right corner next to the phnoe.

anyone have any ideas why this is happening? dont think i have radio s-off yet if thats the cause. i just wanna save or backup things as i go incase i screw up somewhere...

thanks,
sandeep

all sorted. i think the problem was my lack of s-off. after i did radio and eng, i uninstalled rom manager, reinstalled it and reflashed clockworkmod recovery. When i went to backup the phone through rom manager, it took me into the new recovery menu as neeeded and i was able to back it up through there.

huge thanks el presidente, nice to have helpful people around :D

Yeah, S-OFF disables inbuilt HTC's security check which prohibits the installation of "foreign" recovery images etc. That's why you were getting that error when trying to load into clockwork. It was flashed successfully, but because you had S-ON, it wasn't being allowed to load.
