Help Yahoo Mail Stopped Working

I woke up this morning and found no new email. I used my PC to log on to Yahoo Mail and retrieved lots of them. Anyone else having this issue?

Edit: I am using the native HTC mail client on Evo 4G. It failed to retrieve new Yahoo mail in the morning of Tuesday June 21. It was running Android 2.3 GB when the problem occurred. Then I applied the 6/21/11 maintenance update and it did not fix the problem.

Yes. I have two yahoo email accounts set up on my HTC Evo and both were working yesterday. Today, only one of my accounts will sync. The other account will not show any new emails. I can send emails from it, but I cannot receive any new mail.

I called Sprint (they have no answers). I tried deleting the yahoo account and starting over. I've tried changing all the settings. I have now spent the last 2 hours messing with it, and nothing has worked.

Thoughts?

I had this issue as well. Two things I've noticed...

First, I had to uninstall the yahoo mail app and reinstall. Worked fine after that.

Also, every time I reboot I have to dial a number and let the phone stop the 3g connection for a phone call. When I hand up and it reconnects 3g suddenly yahoo will start syncing again. You can also accomplish the same by going through the setting and uncheck the mobile network and then recheck. Just quicker to make a call and hang up. I've notice the same is true for other apps using push notifications as well. Wordfeud is another that won't work if I don't do that.

I have an HTC Evo phone and use yahoo mail as my main email account. I have had the mail app provided on the Evo set up to display my yahoo email using the imap/smtp. It has been working with no problems, until today. I am no longer receiving any new yahoo emails ( I can still send ), but if I log in to my yahoo account via the internet I have new emails. The only thing that has changed is that I updated my yahoo mail to use the new Yahoo! Mail Beta. To run a test, I set up a gmail account and another yahoo account that has not been converted over to the new Beta. They are both working fine and I am able to receive and send email. I have tried deleting the account and recreating and all that did was loose all my old emails also. Still cannot receive new emails. I went to the yahoo! mail beta website and tried the imap and smtp settings specified for an android device, but that did not have any affect. Has anyone else encountered this issue or have any ideas on how to fix.

It seems that you and I have the exact problem! However, I don't think the issue is with Yahoo Mail Beta. I ran into this problem today when I was using the old Yahoo Mail. I am referring to the web mail on PC here. Then I upgraded to the new Yahoo Mail on PC to see if the problem would go away. It still does not work. In other words, my Evo 4G still cannot get new email using the Mail program that came with the phone.

I then downloaded Yahoo's mail application from the Market. This is the mail application written by Yahoo. It works on my Evo 4G. However, I don't like this mail app from Yahoo.

I did some search and found the problem had been around. One guy got Mail to work again by doing a hard reset. But I am wondering if there is a less intrusive solution.

Thanks.

Same problem here. My wife's phone experienced this a few months ago back on 2.2. Both our phones have been updated to 2.3 for a few weeks now. My phone has the problem. Hers is fine. The only likely thing I can think of is some kind of mainenance on Yahoo's part. I installed the Yahoo Mail app when hers did this and it worked fine but a few days later she started getting email notifications for her Yahoo account in the regular mail app so I deleted the Yahoo Mail app and it's been working perfect ever since for her. Very strange. And quite frustrating. Hopefully it's just a temporary problem.

I am having the same issue. I have two accounts one on yahoo classic and one on the new **** that yahoo has out.

On my evo, My yahoo account that is set up to classic is still receiving emails but the one on the new **** is not recieving.

I did everything to get it running accept uninstalling that actual mail app that evo has in the phone stock.

Any one have an idea on how to get the upgraded yahoo account to work? I am so close to say forget yahoo and go straight to gmail because the new type of yahoo sucks.

Easier said than done, I know, but just like anything new, it may take a little time for them to make it work flawlessly. I'm going to give them some time since I've had my account since 94 and don't really want to stop using it completely. But I also have a Gmail account for backup. I certainly understand the frustration though.

I am having the same issue, and it started this morning. None of the 14 new emails I had showed up. I deleted and reinstalled my yahoo account on the Evo default mail, and refreshed it 50x and it still says no mail. I can send emails, but don't receive any. This has happened before on my Hero. Don't know if it is maintenance or what. If anyone gets an answer, please let me know.
