Curious if this OTA update potentially addresses any of the "concerns" reported by any of the reviews thus far (i.e. call quality & reception)?

I'm so used to not accepting OTA updates. will need to unlearn that for a while

I couldn't find the patch notes on HTC's page but there are some articles around that are saying the patch is to fix "Calendar entries in certain formats force close while editing." I have seen some comments that the bootloader was changed to a different version from 1.30.0000 to version 1.40.0000. I haven't seen anywhere that it is actually unlocked though.

Release notes are on Sprint's support website - they never appear on the HTC site that I've seen.

Installed without a problem. Haven't had a chance to check the boot loader. I am waiting on a phone call, but it installed without a hitch and the only odd thing it did was uninstalled Amazon Appstore funny enough.

For it to be 26MB's, it has to be more than just the calendar

Bootloader is still encrypted and the update breaks gingerbreak root method for sure. That's what i've read from xda so far

Bootloader isn't encrypted...it's just locked. That discussion, however, is for another thread.

Yep, it happened to me but a quick hard reset brought it back to normal.

Got that question from the Phandroid guys.

novox77 told me it was in his lockscreen but is now missing from his app drawer - cannot add Phone icon to desktop as an application.

Can you confirm either way?

I couldn't figure out how to do it so since I haven't customized that much yet I figure a quick hard reset would fix it and it did. Even now, if I were to remove the phone icon I can't figure out how to get it back since I don't see it in the list of apps to select it.

Oh yeah, everything else is fine. It seems like its just the short cut on the lockscreen thats broken.

Yes, after I did the update my phone short cut on the lockscreen was gone. At that point I tried to figure out how to get it back and I just couldn't. So I then did a hard reset and after that the phone short cut was back on the lockscreen again.

Ok so I just checked my other 3vo and appears that the ota removed the phone shortcut from the phone all together. On my other 3vo its showing in the app list under the settings for the lockscreen but on the one with the ota, its not showing. Now the dialer itself is working once I get to the home screen but the shortcut itself is gone.

edit: after the hard reset its showing on the lockscreen but its still not showing under the app list under the lockcreen settings so if you remove it there won't be a way to get it back at all from what I can tell.

Well, I did the OTA update and I lost the phone. It doesn't show up on the lockscreen, or in the list of shortcuts to add when editting settings for the lockscreen. I tried a hard reset to get it to appear again, but its gone. And that is really annoying because I use that one most of all.

Look for the phone icon under the lockscreen settings. Better yet replace the icon with something else then put the phone icon back.

Just wondering, is a hard reset the same thing as the factory reset (ie. erases all data from the device)?
