After watching the 2-hour pilot and this past week's episode I haven't quite made up my mind. I know the commercials try and bill it as some spectacular event and different from all the shows that it could be lumped in with as similar but I haven't gotten that sense yet.
I do applaud TNT for televising a show that is outside their usual summer schedule in that it's not a cop (The Closer, Rizzoli & Isles, Memphis Beat, Southland), thief (Leverage), medical (HawthoRNe), or legal (Franklin & Bash, sort of) show.
I stated in the thread on what makes a good tv show that there are far too many cop, legal and medical shows on television and there is a void for something different. My main concern right now with Falling Skies is the likelihood they can keep the show fresh and interesting over several seasons without revealing too much too soon. On the flip side, if things move too slowly will enough people tune in?
