Root [BETA]Cyanogen!! Landed!!! :) Go get it![Updated 7/12/2011]

Alright, so I've been having issues getting Google Music to stream over 3G without FC'ing on Nightly 12, streaming over Wifi isn't an issue at all. I went back through and installed Nightlies 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 and was still having the same problems with streaming music over 3G. I decided to try one last thing before giving up. I turned on Wifi, selected a song that I know it has to stream, let it start playing, turned off Wifi and then selected a different song that requires streaming, now it will stream any song over 3G again. :D

Edit: Just to clarify I only had to do this once, after a reboot Google Music streamed over 3G without a problem.

Update on my battery issues:

It seems to be working out much better today, I guess I just had to wait it out. While at first I was nervous at work because the cell standby process was still ridiculous, it settled down once I got into an area with a better signal. Since I unplugged my phone when I left work, this is how things have gone so far:

- 35 minutes of listening to music (most of the time with the screen off)
- 40 minute phone call
- Unplugged for 3 hours

80% battery life with the phone call taking up 73% of the drained battery. Looking good and not yet experiencing other issues other users have been. I did install google apps and the camera fix, as well as a theme. Hopefully this will keep up for a while, if not improve over time. Especially if I decide to install an overclocking program to undervolt the phone while the screen is off.

Here is my battery with medium use. Barley ANY signal at work. Phone sometimes says "no service". I use wi-fi at work for internet.
This is what it said when I hit 5%....running build #12 since this morning....

12h 25m 21s on battery
Display 35%
Voice Calls 17%
Android OS 10%
Browser 10%
Wi-fi 7%
Phone Idle 6%
Cell Standby 6%
Handcent SMS 4%
Android Keyboard 2%
Facebook 2%
Android System 2%....

I think it will get better with time :)

BTW, is anyones market acting sketchy?

I click an app to install, it looks like it starts but stops after like 1 sec.
I then try to install a second time and it works? Anyone on nightly 12 see this issue?

I'm on #12 and noticed this earlier today. I think I'm going to back to ApeX. My phone randomly froze earlier too and I had to do a battery pull.

I went 29 hrs and hit 40% when I finally charged it back up last night. Wonder why there is such disparity between devices? My standby was 14%. I do live in a low signal area but we have installed VZWs extender box on our internet. Maybe that is why my phone isnt seeking signal all day.

Yeah I'm wondering the same thing. My standby is always around 30-35%, but my battery life is incredible. I can easily get 15 hours out of a charge. I don't think I've seen someone posting about their battery life in the middle ground. It either rocks, or it sucks.

Another update:

Touched my phone about 3 times for all of 5 minutes altogether since the last update.

6 hours and 40 minutes on battery

70% battery remaining

63% voice calls
9% display
9% phone idle
7% cell standby

Now this is what I was expecting. This is on pace for 20-something hours of battery life.

I don't see the hype about CM7 right now, after using it twice for about 3 days a piece. The battery life is sub-par, I have to patch up to regain core phone features, and it's not noticeably faster than, say, Apex. Until this is completed, I'm going back to Apex. Having the ability to switch themes on the fly isn't worth all of the negatives.

Not saying I don't appreciate cv's work or have high hopes for the future. I'm just tired of having a gimped phone purely for the sake of saying I'm running something bleeding edge.

Well yeah. I would hope you'd get decent battery life if you didn't use your phone.

So what I'm confused about are the changelogs. So you click on the changelogs for cdma shadow, but it has updates for other phones in it ? How are we supposed to keep track of updates?

On another note, i love the gesture features on the lock screen. I especially love that you can link gestures to specific phone activities such as I can gesture to bring up a new calendar event to set a reminder. No digging through menus.

This nightly change log is for the core CM7 software. It is basically the master change log. If you look at other phones, it has the same change log, but a different release number. This is because the base code might be changed slightly for each phone to make CM work on the specific phone hardware. So while the daily bug fixes are generally the same for all phones, you cannot use the "Buzz" release on your DroidX because some of the base programming is different. That brings us to the next point.....

That master log does not include the DroidX specific fixes cvpcs is working on. Those where on the github site, but the list appears to have been taken down. Probably because there were a bunch of people that started posting bug reports even though cvpcs has stated not to report bugs in that manner.

So I finally flashed cm7 and I'm very impressed, but my battery life is terrible. I'm in the process of some full battery cycles to maybe help. I literally left my phone alone for 3 hours at 100% and when I checked it, 71%

Finally gave in ? :D
I'm still following the CM4DX beta closely.
Camcorder still broken and you still have to flash fix for camera etc etc but
I am more than happy with it and feel very fortunate having it on my DroidX since we aren't really suppose to even have CM !
I love CM4DX nightlies.
