Hi,
Actually just picked up a droid.
Here mostly looking for some guidance.
I have checked out a few threads regards to rooting the handheld and what can be done after that.
IMO I have a bit of a unique situation. So forgive me if I have missed this in other threads.
The handheld that I have (picked it up off of a friend who did not have insurance and purchased a new one from Verizon) Verizon Techs gave up on the repair and have called this handheld unrepairable. The handheld will still start up and seems to prompt for install of the OS. (probably a lot further than they want in-store techs to go in attempt of a repair)
Seems like a perfect opportunity to root it. My concern is I have no OS to backup or go back to once I root the unit.
So at this point I am searching for files and/or guidance.
So If anyone has any suggestions or links of reference point me to the threads or PM with the info or questions.
Thanks for the help!
Lots of useful tips and tricks here I cant wait to get further into the threads.
Have a good one!
