How hard is it to remove dust if you get it?

I'm not buying my phone from Sprint, so I doubt they would exchange it if I got dust under the screen. Is it easy to pop the phone open and hit it with a blast of compressed air if need be? Also, what's the best case for preventing dust? I know the Otterbox cases are fantastic at this, but they don't seem to support the Hero.

Edit: Also, is Android 1.6 available for the Hero? Thanks!

They told me they don't have to fix it, that its cosmetic damage only and that it doesn't affect the working quality of the phone.

This is a really strange reaction. I know that general maintenance is covered by the TEP program. I have cleaned dust from several of these even with out the customer having the protection just because I'd rather open the phone with the proper tools than have someone go into their own device and crack the screen (which is easy to do). You may want to call the store and speak to the manager about it.

Just keep in mind when talking to a tech or the manager, everyone else has already tried to bully and threaten their way into getting what they want, a little kindness will go a very long way. :D

Someone should post a instructional on YouTube. I don't have this problem but so many do...

There is a video or screenshots in this forum.
