[OFFICIAL SOLUTION FAQ] Having trouble with your EVO 3D? Click here!

I am a newb and I work in a pretty loud enviorment. I could usually hear my old phone okay but not this Evo 3D. I have the volume pegged but I can never hear it when a call, email or text message comes in. Is there any way to make it louder? Step by step would be appreciated.
Also I noticed that the phone can tell if it is in a pocket, how does it do this?
Thanks
Newbie

Try Equalizer and pick a preset that cranks them all, or at least one that cranks most of them. I use the Rock preset. My phone has been a bit louder since installing this.

Pocket mode probably works off the proximity sensor, maybe even a light sensor. But I'm betting just the proximity sensor that is built into the ear piece. It must figure that if the phone isn't making a call and the proximity sensor senses stuff around it, that it must be in a pocket. But that is just me guessing.

I got the 3D pics to move back over they were saved on the memory card. But 1 more issue and im pretty sure it wasnt doin it earlier when Im using swype I cant get the trace to work or when I peck the letter it doesnt like bold up or however u wanna say it. I turned the phone off and went into swype settings and I have it checked to trace but nothing

Same happened to me with Swype. Display showed all Caps and trace wasn't showing. Rebooting may not help as Fastboot doesn't reset many things. I went into keyboard setting and picked regular non-swype keyboard...and then went back in and chose swype keyboard again and then it worked fine again.

Anyone having problems with the clock? Seems to be an hour behind for about a minute, then catches up. I updated it and rebooted the phone but it still does it, although not as much.

Mine is accurate. Do you have another sprint phone you can compare to? Maybe the tower is wacky. Or go into the sprint store and see if their demo models are wacky, too.

And is it every clock, or just a certain widget?

Yes, those pics are on the original memory card.

One minor issue/ I loved the preloaded 3D pics and all the other pics and videos but after I took out the memory card that came with it and put in my bigger memory card from my original evo all those sample 3D pics and everything were gone. As Im typing this I just thought in my head maybe those sample pics were saved on the memory card that came with it maybe?

This is my first smart phone, so i'm new to the whole android thing, but I think my phone has crashed a couple times. I have been using a good amount of apps and today i was trying to run the pre-loaded green hornet movie, and the screen just went black...sleep button (holding and pressing) did nothing, the green light was still blinking, and the soft keys would light up when pushed, but the screen would stay dark and nothing would change it (i even let it sit for an hour cause i was working, and came back to the same darkness. I took the battery out and it rebooted fine...this has happened twice (had it for 3 days). Just wondering if anyone else has had this and if you have any advice on how to minimize my apps from running. I have the task manager and app killer, but apps just seem to pop up randomly without me using them (not just the streaming apps, but random ones including the spider man game i dont even play).
any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks

First, stop using the task killer. Android has a pretty good task killer installed and task killers can destabilize your phone if they kill an app that the system needs. The Android task killer knows better than to kill these apps. Lots of apps loaded in the background memory is fine as long as they are not taking CPU cycles. Android will kill apps as it needs memory, and it kills apps in order of least used apps, first. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about the stupid spiderman game loading (without rooting and I wouldn't suggest a brand new Android user dive into that just yet).

So, uninstall the task killer, reboot, and try doing using the phone like you have been. If it keeps doing the screen blank out thing, have Sprint repair store check out the phone. And make sure it's a Sprint store with repair capabilities. Go to sprint.com, find a store near you, filter for repair centers, and only go to ones that say "Sprint Store" instead of "Sprint via so-and-so" because the so-and-so's suck and will likely give you the run around.

I'm still having wake lock issues on mine. It's making the battery life pretty short.

That's a fairly uncommon problem. Go to Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > and make sure Stay Awake is unchecked. If that is unchecked, try hard resetting it. If that fails, take it back and show them that your device does not turn off the screen.
