Help Stuck in safe mode

I am stuck in safe mode. I rebooted and the stock launcher and apps are the only thing showing on the phone, no downloaded apps. It also says safe mode on the bottom left hand corner of the screen. Any ideas?

I don't know for sure, but a lot of what I've read about getting into safe-mode is caused by a stuck key. Double-check that none of the keys are stuck in the in/on position and try a battery-pull and/or reboot.

The other reasons involved a phone that was exposed to water , which I hope was/is not the case with your phone.

Thank you so much! My stock X went into "safe mode" this AM, similar to NS's problem. I started to do a "factory reset" but decided to do a google on my PC before taking that dreaded step and I found your post.

I had removed the battery twice with no help and btw, no water was involved. I then tried your solution and the safe mode went away and my X is back to normal now.
