Root Software (package?) Question

I finally got it rooted to cm7 (forgive me if I'm not using the proper terminology, I'm new to this). I've been looking at some apps and things for android and I was wondering if there is anything special I need to pay attention to. I know these tablets are much larger than the phones obviously, and I'm not using any kind of phone on it (except skype out) so do I need to pay attention to any requirements or anything? I lost that market app when I rooted so I'm having to find things online and transfer them via the sd card, but that is ok.

If you want your market and other Google apps back, download the correct .zip file from here and flash with clockwork the same way you loaded CM7.

Thanks for the links. What I mean was is there some way to know if an app will work with it? I tried a live wallpaper and it keeps crashing to I had to remove it. It says it required android 2.1 or higher.

Also, my avast blocked the link to download the google market. It said "threat has been detected" when I clicked to download.

Ugg, I installed the gapps the same way I did the rom. Now my gtab boots to the logo screen then says "power off" and shuts down.

I AM SO STUPID!!! I wiped the data and stuff to see if that would fix it and I ended up realizing my battery was dead! So now I get to start customizing and re-adding apps again. Oh well, gives me something to do.

hope ya get it working, sideloading every single app gets old after awhile, lol.

there is not really any way to know which apps will work and which won't. it's mostly trial and error. some work great, some work but not in full screen, and some just don't work at all. i wish google would take a page from apple (sacrilege, i know) and make a separate section in the market for tablets.

Well, I installed it with cwm the way I did the rom and it said installing google etc.. then I got the message it was installed. Then when I rebooted there was no change. No google apps. I tried it a couple of times.

do you not even have the market? it usually gives you the option to install all other google apps on your first market sign in.

Wish I could help you more but I am out of ideas. Never had an issue installing the gapps.zip myself. I would suggest posting over on the cyanogen forums. Response will probably be slow but they should have the specific info you need to get the gapps to work for you.
