How Time Flies

Perhaps we should all share some Dutch Dragon in memory of Andrizoid...

Behind bars once again ...:D

*edit* He's not really in the "clink"...not to my knowledge anyway.

Still using yours? I'm jealous..

Yep. You may not have been so jealous last week when xtrSENSE was taking three minutes to actually make a phone call when tapped from the missed call list (which means, of course, that I called my wife five times when I tapped, nothing happened, tapped again four more times, then it called. And called. And called. And called. And called. Each a few minutes apart.

I've finally moved to CSCM7 for good; that fixed that problem. I should be ready for a new phone in about two months or so.

Congrats, Frisco to 10,000+ words of wisdom!
And to all of you guys who were/are part of this amazing community.
It is good to see that although most of you guys moved to a newer, shinier phone, you still feel attached to Eris.

I am still with Eris and will stay true to it for a while (at least till October :).

Holy old phones Batman!!!! How did I miss this thread!

It had been a while since I stuck my head in this place.

Great names Frisco. Brings back some memories. For all the crap Andrizoid used to take, he was a nice kid. Pretty much held my hand through rooting (it used to be hard, not like you kids are doing it nowadays:rolleyes:)

I might still have that Eris if it wasn't for that darn silent bug...

LOL, Noe, how's it going? :)

Yeah, the guys at XDA really raked Andrizoid over the coals (one member in particular) and he even re-signed up as a different user (Ban Dover ;)) since his original handle was banned (partially self-inflicted) to try to make ammends, but the shenanigans started-up all over again...

You know that erisuser1 discovered a fix for the silent bug issue, right? If you want, I can send you my Eris and you can take a stroll down memory lane :p . . .

Cheers and good to hear from you again! :)

Things are good Sean. Hope you're doing good as well.

Are you freakin serious?!?! That's awesome! That guy is a brain!
Just curious, How did he fix it? Is it something simple you can explain? Or is it like most of his post that are too long and complicated for me to understand? :)

Thanks, Noe...doing great...been on stay-cation this week...catching up on things around the house and decompressing from a busy work schedule.

LOL, the solution was dead-simple (all you have to do is create a missing file that the rild (radio interface layer daemon) needed but couldn't find.

eu1's genius was tracking and debugging the issue (very doggedly, I must say) to actually catch the error when it happened. Pretty cool and neat stuff (as always...).

Here's all the cool details if you are so inclined:

[SOLVED] Eris "Undead Call" Problem (AOSP/Froyo/GB) Fixed! - xda-developers

The best part of getting a new phone is not the phone itself, but getting to know new parts of AF you never new existed ;)

I still hear your footsteps around here. It's funny, i was actually going to post that exact same idea; except something like, "sad to say, August 17th I may be turning to the dark side". Meaning, I think an iPhone may be in my near future. But shhhhh...don't tell anyone. I still have a soft spot in my very little heart for the folks in the Eris forums.

You better check on that.. cause It's not me. I haven't been near your place in months! :p

My wife has one and I play with it all the time. Great games. If you do get it, we'll have to battle in MetalStorm. fun game

Unlike others, I wouldn't hate on you if you went iPhone. Im just curious as to why.

Maybe you just need some android love------->

Yeah, my Wife has one as well. Just seems very solid all the way around, plus just something different. I haven't made up my mind yet; however. There's even part of me that likes the Windows phones. Unfortunately VZW only carries one. Dunno. Been trying to educate myself before my next phone. Got any words of wisdom for a old buddy?

Dont know about words of wisdom, cuz I would rather keep you here.

But i agree that iphone is a good phone. I have heard some good reviews on Windows, but havent played with one.

What I do know is there are some GREAT android phones out there that blow the Eris away. By far.
So if you're happy with android, just tired of the eris' problems, then I see android in your furure.

I think I'm reasonably happy with Android, I really don't have any bad words about; even with the Eris experience. I'm running CS's ROM and it's actually running better than ever. A person in my office has a t-mobile HTC windows phone, I've used it and it's a pretty nice phone. And well, iPhone...just a tough phone to beat. Perhaps I'm just looking for something different. Have you found any real flaws in your wife's iPhone? They just seem to work, fast...all the time.

By the way, my Wife is an Apple person, share holder, etc. She is even willing to buy me the phone if I choose iPhone....haha

Gah, wait until October if you can, to see if Apple comes out with a better iPhone 5 (or 4s or whatever they call their next phone.) Strong rumors suggest that waiting a mere two months more will get you a better phone, if that's the way you are going to go. If not, then you've only lost two months.
