all of AT&T's freqs and.... NFC!!!

Samsung GALAXY S II GT-I9101???????!!?Blog of Mobile!!??????????

that page from 2 month ago says that it's a I9101 model and it even goes as far as to say that the sgh-i777 would be the AT&T model which... shouldn't be too hard to figure out given the naming conventions.

sadly, the label id picture isn't as detailed as the Within's. it's just a generic shape so we can't tell if there's a keyboard or not on it.

Because its likely a mid grade SG2 thats been rumored to be the galaxy Z....the phone to compete with Apples mid grade phone.

I just can't get over the irony of all this....lol

The international version was built out to be a thin powerful sleek smartphone......sells like 8million in under 3months, and then Att puts the best selling form factor on the lesser phone and slaps one of the most polarizing features on the iPhone 5 contender LOL

it doesn't make sense for the numbering scheme to go from the 900's with the captivate to the 700's for this thing... unless it's a mid-range phone.
with samsung a larger integer doesn't mean a better phone.

captivate i897
fascinate i500
epic d700

all flagships

galaxy s 4g t959
transform m920
indulge r915

i don't think ANYONE would label those as high end, would you?

But why would they push the Thrill back behind the launch this phone when the launch date hasn't even been announced yet, but the Thrill was supposed to launch this past week??

Doesn't make sense to me.

I'm very seriously considering the Thrill now especially at the $99 dollar entry point. Thats a heck of a price for the phone.

I know at one point the thrill was pushed back to the 7th but nothing was ever made official as far as release date.

If it comes out this week i will try it for sure. If they come out same time i will prolly try the sg2 first.

So far the infuse i have had for about a month now just isnt cutting it.

Dedicated tasks the phone runs great.. .As soon as I start multitasking the thing lags to a crawl.

Are we related? ;)

Not sure what you are doing to your Infuse but I am able to run multiple apps and mine flies. What ROM are you running? I got the Infuse as a holdover until the S2 comes out but my Infuse (other than horrible GPS) is anything but slow.

Lol....i "may" have accidentally had my max cpu speed at 600.

I have tried all of the few popular roms out there..multiple settings and the infuse just cant keep up with me. The previous phone (htc evo) just seemed to keep up better...the same is the case for our inspire.
I have a week left before my 30 days are up ....

Options...
Keep infuse (doubtful)
thrill if out..keep or keep until sg2 is out
Sg2 if out next week...doubtful
inspire until thrill or sg2 come out

ooooor...return the infuse and use our spare iphone 3g until a better phone comes out.

Little known fact....i hate pretty much everything apple...so i really prefer not do that lol

as for relation......who knows :p

i am a third in the family.

And i wont even get into what i had to go through to get this screen name hahaha...it was taken when i joined

You're comparing Red to Green apples there. AT&T Samsung phones have so far followed a pretty steady and predictable numbering scheme. I'm not making any comparison to Samsung phones from other carriers.

discounting the Nexus s which is based off the international model number, you have two phones. how do you draw a "steady and predictable" pattern from that? your sampling pool is no where large enough

Well, I've bounced between iPhone and Android since the 'droids first appeared. While I absolutely hate Apple a lot can be said for their business and marketing models. Their technology, while very boring, is almost flawless and you have to admit if anything is going to be available it is on the iPhone first and many times exclusively. That being said, I am a tinkerer at heart which keeps drawing me back to Android devices. :)

As much as I want the the SG2 that .2" difference in screen size is looming large.

Not 2 phones. 16 phones. Go here and tell me you don't see a correlation between Samsung's high-end, mid-range, and low-end phones with their model numbers for AT&T.

For instance, the Captivate is the SGH-i897. The i marks it as a smartphone for AT&T (an A is for non-smartphone AT&T phones)

At the time it was released, the Captivate it had the highest number on the lineup. Now we have the 997 for the Infuse, which is a higher number than the 897 captivate. Look at the non-smartphones. Last year the Mythic was their top-of-the-line "feature" phone. Thus it's the A897. Now they have phones in the 900's that came out this year.

That being said, Samsung is going to have to do some re-numbering on their AT&T branded phones because there isn't much wiggle room on the 3-digit code. Will they start 4-digits, or will they start over on 3-digit codes? Or will they try to squeeze them into the existing 3-number scheme? Nobody really knows yet.
