I have Sony Ericsson Experia Arc purchased few moths back. Till today evening, it was working fine but now, I am facing problem with its speaker.

Sound is not coming from its speaker. No phone sound, music games and even alerts. I haven't dropped it since its purchase.

Torubleshooting: Restarted.... Given soft & factory reset, but no luck.
Sound is coming fine while making calls, both ways.
It is even giving proper sound with headsets but sound is not coming from speakers.

Please help me what to do. I want to make every effort before taking it to Service Center.

PLEASE HELP!!

My wife also experienced the same problem yesterday (Same time as you.) Could there be a software problem / issue?

Do you run any special applications like skype on the phone?

Is there any known issues with SE xperia Arc and the speakers?

No known issue I am aware of, though you would be surprised how often it is just something blocking the speaker. There is always a chance of it being software related but it is unlikely given the description of the fault.

First thing to check is if there are any foreign objects around that section of the phone (ie: lint, dust etc). If this is not the cause of the issue then it is unfortunately likely to be a hardware problem with the loud speaker in which case I would have to advise it is sent for repair.

Just changed from 12 months of wifi hell with iPhone 3Gs (s for speed!) for Xperia Arc. Had it two days and there was a problem, no sound at all. That was i followed advice above! Nice One :) Took the back off and blew on speaker and sounds bellowed thro. Mental

Impressed with it however i cant find a way of turning off the music after a 'countdown' in minutes. You can with iphone and pods. Anyone know of a way or
direct me to an app that can do this?

Cheers

I have the same problem. My speakers were good yesterday but when I used it to sound the alarm, there's no sound. I did the ones you've suggested like blowing the speaker but yet no progress. I think I have to bring this to the service center. Nah! have to wait for quite some time before it will be repaired..grrrr

Hmm. After being told off quite a few times for not answering the 'phone, I wondered if I had a really quiet sound track as call-tone. No. Chuck Berry!
Tried playing a few tracks. As with a few above, fine with phone jack in and through pods, but no sound through internal speaker. Have already tried the fluff and reset (and volume!).
I suspect that the contacts inside the jack socket for external earphone are not reconnecting after removal. Bally nuisance.
Sort of warming to know that I'm not alone; thanks you guys!
