I have two droid x's here with me, one in which I have activated and am using, another in which I sort of bricked editing the NV files, don't exactly know what happened, may have wrote the wrong text file to the phone when editing NV items to activate it on Alltel, oops.

Anyhoo, the phone has a corrupted NV file memory, I can't go to ##PROGRAM because it doesnt even know the SPC lock now. The SPC code not working anymore means I can't use CDMA Workshop to restore the NV backup of the phone when it was stock. Restoring the phone does not fix the NV items, radio still does not work ( no service ).

Being that the phone is rooted, am I able to get to the NV file storage on the phones memory ? Does anyone know where that is located?

If not, best restore it and send it off to motorola.

thanks for suggestions

I know this is a late response band I don't mean to digup old threads. But I came across this thread on a google search.

Flashing the Droid X recovery will restore the corrupted NV Items.

This is interesting because let's say you rewritten the SPC from 000000 to let's say 123456, and reflash the SPC may stay the same.

However, if you wrote a wrong txt file to the nv items. the SPC aren't even numbers. An SBF will do the trick to restoring it.

I know this because I have written the wrong NV Items to a Droid X.
I used Radiocomm to locate the Seem with the SPC and when I read it I had a strange Hex sequence come out.
If you notice to, other fields may be corrupt, your MIN and MDN may not show.

I've rewritten with the SBF file as a ditch effort, and it worked.

I am replying to this old thread in case anybody runs into it. Thanks.

Be careful when writing NV Items! NV Items from Similar phones may not work across the phone. Read the NV Items from the phone and see if the same items correspond to each other.
