Official HTC Inspire Gingerbread Update Rumor Thread

I assume that when we do receive GB, that it will wipe off my side loading that AT&T just pushed to me yesterday? or is that only if I manually update to GB from the website?

Thnx!

I heard a rumor that the GB update will have the unknown sources enabled on it so those that never got that update should get it with this update. So I guess no matter what after the update everyone should have sideloading enabled.

But again that could just be that, a rumor. So I'll sit and wait and see what happens for others. It's what I did for the froyo update they pushed for the captivate back in February.

I think you guys are smokin somethin.....no update listed on htc site, "check in" does nothing....are you on a different internet something???

Maybe a little something but it's sure not helping me with an os update, check in=nothing and nothing on the htc site for me either. Also not seeing any activity from phone on my router.

The one guy that it did work for, 1st posted about, wasn't bs'ing though, on ATT forums someone else saw it on the htc site as well and gave some copypasta from that page. I guess htc took it down for some reason.

But, they still left on the tech specs that the current version is 2.3.3. I'm assuming this means the update is coming quite soon.

You're welcome.

How long did the manual update take?

I will do mine this weekend if it doesn't come through. Might do it anyway just to get a cleaner install.

it was REALLY quick for me.
less than a half hour (results may vary) and i had gingerbread on my phone :)

its actually taking longer for me to get everything back onto the phone and setting it back up. (the update pretty much factory resets your phone.)
