Amusing - Google Nav off the continental US

I have overseas family and friends and was playing with Google Nav on my Milestone. I decided to check the route to get to someone's house in Australia. I expected it would tell me to drive to somewhere in California and then stall.

Instead, it suggested I drive to Cali, _kayak_ to Hawaii, kayak again to somewhere with Chinese characters in the street names, kayak to Australia, and then the directions picked up where they left off and directed me to the house in question.

I can't help but think that whoever suggested kayaking across the Pacific Ocean had a rather sick sense of humor!

I was just playing with the new pinch zoom and ended up in Australia... and I thought.. hmm... what will happen if I choose to navigate here... Got the same funny result:

When reading through old posts of mine I came across this one. On a more serious note, if you use market enabler (or some other option) to convince your phone you have US-based service can you use Google Nav overseas? They clearly have the street data in the system...

Anyone know?

I just came back from London, and Nav on my MT3G worked pretty damn well while I was there, and I don't have/use Market Enabler.

I don't know that I'd want to use it for driving (I'd be afraid to drive in London, anyway! lol), but for walking it was fine.

Can't say about other countries, though.

My understanding the Nav has been officially enabled in Great Britain (and possibly Ireland?)

I'm specifically asking about countries that don't have Nav enabled. I'm wondering if there's a way to trick it into thinking it ought to be. Not that it matters much, I'm in the US, I'm just being nosy/curious.
