I definitely learned my lesson about installing leaks, but I'm in the same boat again. I have an Incredible 2, and it came from Verizon with 2.3.3 preloaded. Currently there isn't a software root method unless the phone has 2.2.1. There is a hardware option (XTC clip). I'm working on getting one now. I never thought getting the Eris last year would have this effect. I'm even running linux instead of Windows now
Frisco with real-live genuine forum/banning power....can you imagine if he had that a couple years ago. I think I would probably been on xx_bishop_xx(4) as a screen name by now.
I think I have seen him over in the incredible forums...
being here brings back memories of law suites and onions
it really doesn't seem like that long ago that I was waiting for root for the leak because I wasn't patient :/
now I have an incredible running miui and it is sick!
I gave my Eris to my mom and she promptly dropped it on the ground and shattered the screen... it was a sad day.
I didn't back when I tried the original Droid ages ago. Stayed with on-screen keyboards (Eris, Fascinate).
But I fell for the Droid 3 right away in the store, and it surprised me... now I like having the whole screen when in a text field, etc, especially when posting here, as opposed to most of the screen obscured by the keyboard.
Swiftkey.. hmm.. well, it's all academic now that I've grown to love my Droid 3 slide out keyboard so much. Man is it solid. I remember the Mattel Toy Company feel of the original Droid's keyboard when I messed with it in the store a long time ago.
They've responded to complaints about that, it appears.
So cool to see all the big hitters on here again. All the guys that walked me thru leaks and rooting and roms. Still have my Eris, once in a while i get it out just to flash the latest rom. Thanks again for everything you guys did, for everyone.
I used to hate this phone, love this phone and any other emotion.
It was my first official android phone and I adored it's cosmetic
design, I just hated the lag.
I think in the 8 months I owned a total of 6 eris devices.
LOL i'd always switch for an OG droid and then i'd miss my eris
and then switch back to it. LOL
But I am back with Android, temporarily just because i do miss having a Front Facing Camera so I am a mostly content owner of a Droid Charge and Xperia Play.
Once Mango hits Windows Phone 7 and Nokia releases their hardware with a FFC(or even Samsung and LG), I'll be dropping Android for good lolol.
And I just discovered Frisco was a Moderator now lol.
Do you still have an Eris?
