Charging Nexus 1 is slow

Is it just me, or does this phone take a hell of a long time to charge. My phone battery died for the first time, and I plugged it in for about an hour and realized that it only charged the damn phone 42%. Is this just me?

I mean...I love this phone to death as you can see from all of my earlier posts, but the past few weeks I've been really using the phone a lot more then usual and as I really drain the battery it takes a sh-t load of time to charge it to 100%.

Anyone have this issue or any good ways to resolve this?

I've noticed this too. The odd thing is it doesn't happe all the time. Sometimes it charges quicker than others. I cannot seem to find the cause.

Stangely enough, I used to have these same types of battery issues wiht my Blackberry 9000 until I did an OS update. I went from getting 7 hours out of a charge to getting over 24 hours, and the time it took to recharge fell by half. Hoping it's an OS issue here as well and will be corrected by Google.

Until then I got the dock and the seido extended battery coming. Hoping these will tide me over until an OS update.

Right now I'm getting maybe 8 hours out of a charge on my Nexus. Not absolutely horrible, but not as good as I would like.

edit: right now my Nexus has been off charge for 4 and a half hours and I'm still at 70 percent, so it for sure varies for me from charge to charge.

This is true....sometimes I do notice it charges super fast...but 1 hour and it only brought it to 42%. That's crazy....my iphone goes from dead to fully charged in about 20-30 minutes.

I had one charge from zero that took over four freaking hours and I was STILL at 96%! :D

Then again one time I charged from zero and it was done in less than two hours.

I'm stumped on this one. Praying it's OS related.

You've had the phone longer than all of us and it took you this long to work out the charging variance - I have an iPod Touch and it takes longer to charge than my N1. That phone should've come to me, I wouldn't have so brazenly asked for donations too. Bit of a ****ing cheek if you ask me. You have the balls to come back on here and ask the community about it when some people have been lining your pockets. I'm glad I didn't donate any money to you. It didn't seem as though you provided a comprehensive set of information based on what I've seen from you so far.

Thanks Mark! Appreciate it :)

I'm not sure but I think charging takes so much time because the stock charger is only 200 mA. I'm in Europe so I can't use the stock charger but if anyone has a better charger, like the Apple charger (1000 mA), you could compare the difference in time.

You do know that you only need a adapter to change the actual connection and that's it?.. it's 2 euro and you can use your original charger.

The input of original adapter is:
100-240V so it works eu and usa it's just the damn difference in connection
