Hi all,

I got a notification in my SE Xperia x10i(2.1)...saying that the phone storage is getting low hence not allowing me to download apps:( .I have installed not more than 70 apps other than the one's pre-installed).i'm using launcher pro

What shud i do?..I would also like to know if it is normal that my phone space got low as i've installed 70odd apps?

suggest me a good app through which i can move stuff to SD card without any problem.if i have posted in the wrong section please direct me to the right section.

Any help is appreciated.
Thx in adavnce!

P.S. i've rooted my phone but havent done anything yet

sorry not sure i understand this bit lol .but it cant an app compatible. i cant search for 2.1 apps on the market because ive got a 2.2 rom, you will need to do that yourself

ric

sorry i mistyped there..i meant that i cant find any app compatible with 2.1..lol

now i've found one called link2SD(it requires rooting and we need to create a second partition of the SD card) https://market.android.com/details?id=com.buak.Link2SD&feature=search_result

wat do u suggest? Should i wait for other replies or should i go for it?

I too have had an issue with low memory. Have just cleared out a load of apps / games that I don't use or hardly use and am now fine. Will wait until 2.3 comes out so I can move them over to SD card.

Also, something that's happened to me which people need to be made aware of. Even though I had 30Mb free space, my phone refused to receive any SMS messages. I could send them fine, but not receive them. As soon as I cleared up some space, I was able to receive them again (but not the ones that had already been sent).

Surely 30Mb free should be enough to still receive messages???

As far as i know...30Mb is more than enough to receive messages

but still its good to have more space...makes ur phone fast

You can either wait for official 2.3 update or u can install link2sd from the market...but ur phone has to be rooted for that.Works great!

I have had the low memory warning but its usually to do with apps not messages. I have apps 2sd and its a good thing to have. I cleared a lot of apps off my phone the other day because I didn't use them, phones running a bit better now
ric

yep..i suggested the same but apps 2sd is not compatible with android 2.1

There is an alternative link2sd for rooted users which works great...if you are not rooted you'll have to wait till the 2.3 update

I can't believe no one suggested removing some apps.

No one needs more than 70 apps on a phone. If you don't use an app for a week....delete it. If you want it back....redownload it.

More apps you have loaded the slower the phone is. Keep your phone clean.

I have updated several phones and when I ask friends when they last used some of their game apps, they said there were at least a dozen apps they haven't used since the first week they got their phone.

When I had the issue with not receiving any messages, the first thing I did was clear out all my messages, not that I had that many, probably no more than 50. But I still could not receive any messages.

It was only by removing some apps until the low memory warning disappeared that I got the ability to receive messages back again!

I haven't got too many apps, but I do have several which take up a lot of space each (10mb up to 35Mb each)

I'm OK with what I've got now and am happy to wait until the official 2.3 comes out (hopefully not too long now).

my xperia mini pro also notified me that my phone storage space was getting low. I searched Apps 2ds on my market and i couldnt find it. Is there anything else i can do? Or how can i get Apps 2sd on my phone? many thanks, maisie,x

Are u running on android 2.1?

Apps 2sd is not compatible for android 2.1.It works only on 2.2+

But there is an alternative app link2sd on the market...U need to make a partion on the sd card...n you are good to go:)

I would also suggest removing some apps you dont use much..

And hey this forum is for xperia x10 NOT x10 mini.So next time post it in the right section
