Okay, so I have a stock, non-rooted Sprint Evo 3D and I (accidentally) took a screenshot today. It said "your screenshot will be saved to the gallery" or something like that.
How? I have no clue. I was pulling the phone out of my pocket at the time, so maybe I hit the power button and the home button, but trying to replicate that only gives the list of recent apps used.
I've been searching online all day and this is by far the closest anyone has come to explaining what happened. I don't particularly need to take screenshots of my device, but I would love to know how I did it.
The screenshot I took is here:
And no, I'm not trolling. This is my first post because I just found this thread via Google, I haven't bothered to check out the rest of the forum yet.
The screenshot I took is located in the DCIM folder on the phone, but not in a subfolder like all the other pictures. It's just right in the DCIM folder.
TL;DR:
I took a screenshot on my Sprint Evo 3D. Don't know how, and the method in this thread doesn't seem to work to replicate it. But I definitely took one.
EDIT: On a side note, this picture is decently high resolution. That's cool. If I can figure out how the hell I took that screenshot, this could actually be pretty useful.
EDIT2: It might be worth noting I just upgraded the phone to android 2.3.4.. or, uh, software number 2.08.651.2. When I updated it the second number was what popped up after the reboot, so maybe it was already 2.3.4. Not sure.
