Now that we have root let's post some screenshots! I haven't had the chance to root yet, but am hoping to later this week, as I'm off work, and will post mine then.

In the Evo 4G forum we would post what widgets and ROMs etc we were using to avoid people always having to ask, so that might be a good idea. :)

Here is my home screen. stock rom, i think it looks nice with Sense

Okay, so I have a stock, non-rooted Sprint Evo 3D and I (accidentally) took a screenshot today. It said "your screenshot will be saved to the gallery" or something like that.

How? I have no clue. I was pulling the phone out of my pocket at the time, so maybe I hit the power button and the home button, but trying to replicate that only gives the list of recent apps used.

I've been searching online all day and this is by far the closest anyone has come to explaining what happened. I don't particularly need to take screenshots of my device, but I would love to know how I did it.

The screenshot I took is here:

And no, I'm not trolling. This is my first post because I just found this thread via Google, I haven't bothered to check out the rest of the forum yet.

The screenshot I took is located in the DCIM folder on the phone, but not in a subfolder like all the other pictures. It's just right in the DCIM folder.

TL;DR:
I took a screenshot on my Sprint Evo 3D. Don't know how, and the method in this thread doesn't seem to work to replicate it. But I definitely took one.

EDIT: On a side note, this picture is decently high resolution. That's cool. If I can figure out how the hell I took that screenshot, this could actually be pretty useful.

EDIT2: It might be worth noting I just upgraded the phone to android 2.3.4.. or, uh, software number 2.08.651.2. When I updated it the second number was what popped up after the reboot, so maybe it was already 2.3.4. Not sure.

.

You've seen it on other threads.
You've always wanted to participate, but didn't want to Root.
Now you can!

With your EVO 3D! (version 2.3.4+)

How To Take A ScreenShot
Press the Power button ever so slightly, then press the Home button at the same time!

Then... Boom! You have a screenshot!

Just to make things a little easier, if you would, include the title of any widgets on your screen to help out thoes who.. "OMG! I want that! What is it called!?" I know I am one of them. ;)

I'm an astronomy buff, and and one of my widgets displays the "Astronomy Photo of the Day" from NASA, as well as automatically saving the photo in a folder on my EVO.

When I set up my lock screen, I chose the option that displays photos from your gallery, and set it to pull from the folder with the Astronomy Photo of the Day shots, so I get a display of cool astronomy photos whizzing past on my lock screen!

The rest of the lock screen is fairly mundane, though I'll point out that I've set up the Flashlight App as one of my shortcuts, which is extremely useful from time to time....

I'm so lazy, I meant to do this like a week ago...

Screen #1: Home page, Beautiful Widgets (Home 4x2, weather 4x1, 4g toggle) Agenda widget 3x2, juice defender 3g toggle, switchpro on bottom
Screen #2: Friends widget from Launcher Pro (twitter & FB stream), CNN Widget

Screen #1: Root/dev page for now, I also test to see how widgets, icons look here
Screen #2: Contacts page, people widget (Launcher Pro) handcent widget

Screen #1:Shopping page I guess, coupon widget
Screen #2: Games page, controller icon on bottom is actually a folder with more games inside, games you see are my favs

Entertainment page, bookmark widget (Launcher Pro) ESPN scorecenter widget

Think I'm gonna learn how to make translucent icons before the year is out to give my *folders a more uniform look

*All translucent icons are actually folders made with Folder Organizer & Custom Launcher Icons, both available in the market. You can get the same icons free online here.

Some great shots guys! Please forgive my ignorance, but how did you post these? I apologize if this is something obvious and I feel stupid asking. I am posting from my phone. Do I need to do this on my pc? Thanks again! :)

What I do is have a Photobucket account set so my phone camera photos are automatically uploaded to it. If I remember rightly, screen shots did not upload automatically and I had to upload them manually using the Photobucket application.

Once a photo is uploaded, you can view it in your online Photobucket gallery, and are given options to put IMG code into your clipboard. Paste this into your forum message. I do this on my PC, but it can probably be done in the Photobucket Android app.
