Well, I'm the last man standing on this ship (dri001 is back, but his circumstances made him so). It's this time of the year when I can renew my contract (forgot about 3 month prior rule). So because off my circumstance I go for LG Optimus One, just order it today (comes in two days) so I will move on from this unit.
But fear not I'm still holding on to my Galaxy (maybe cause off love for it or modding it). So I will be around here like a ghost and post some stuff here and there (nightly and Betas and Recovery).

P.S: I'm following you DaSchmarotzer

I also got an Galaxy ACE as temporary solution before moving to dual-Core androids, but I still keep my first galaxy.

Should we make a list of apps making the device useful without the simcard?

I'm thinking for car multimedia - GPS navigation with offline maps
possibly WiFI web camera for the house...and the list goes on...

I have been hearing lots about the LG Optimus One phone. It seems to be quite popular and at a good price. Is it true about it being upgraded to 2.3?

Yes, in August. Somehow there was a WIP version leaked from LG and it was full of bugs (almost useless). It should have been released last moth but...
Also it was 2.3.3 version and not 2.3.4.

Who knows, maybe they're waiting for Qualcomm's and Adobe's love to bear fruit. There was a article about Qualcomm working close with Adobe to bring flash support on their's 7227 chipset (LG Optimus One has it). So maybe there will be flash support in the future.

Yep, two same devices. It's such a new experience using it (also brand new Android experience). I'm already past the official ROM and moved on custom ROM's which brings the unit on a brand new level. Apparently mik_os has made some deal with CyanogenMod to make his ROM an official CM7 one. The future for this unit is bright, also with the up and coming Gingerbread release from LG devs will have more jobs for optimizing this unit.

Yep. It seems Galaxy was mede to be for high end Market segment, but they screwed up with to little memory. And that was the only screw up from them if we don't mentioned the obvious lack of support for the unit.
It's not so bad as a backup smartphone.

It seems Galaxy is like "The old faithful".

Hi,

I knew this stage would come eventually; sooner or later.
After almost a year with Samsung Galaxy 7500 I have moved on to its bigger and better sibling...obviously the Galaxy S2.

I have loved every bit of my time here in the forum and must thank all the members for their contributions specially DaZ, Lelouch and all others.

I will still keep visiting the forum as I have not discarded my i7500.

Thank you Android Forums.

By the way, Lelouch, did your LG Optimus One get the 2.3 update yet? I don't think it is out in Canada yet? Heard some countries have started receiving it.
Yep, the official 2.3.3 upgrade for LG Optimus One was released. But LG has shit for devs and they did a lousy job with it. In the end I'm using custom ROM - CM 7.1 version with Android 2.3.5.

P.S: custom ROM's and kernels rules

SGS 2 is a must have phone and it has a possible bright future for upgrades.
Good luck with it.
