processes sleep when the phone goed into stand-by

After a while my phone developed an annoying problem. When it goes on standby all the processes pause. Like for example a music player stops between songs and sometimes resumes itself after s while buy more often I have to wake it up pressing a power button. Same with alarm. More often than not it just don't go off. Only when I wake up the phone (meaning I am already late). Does anyone experience anything similar? Any solutions? Thanks in advance.

I very occasionally find that my podcast player will complete one podcast but won't start playing the next podcast until I wake the screen up. Most of the time it's fine but sometimes it does this.

Also sometimes the phone will vibrate, the LED will flash and there will be no notification sound. I'll pick the phone up to see what's going on and when I press the power button, I get the audio tone for the email/SMS/whatever alert. usually the sound just comes 10 seconds or so after the vibrate/LED, just sometimes it does the wait-until-screen-wakes thing.

I've never got to the bottom of it, but haven't looked that hard, and have never bothered with tech support at HTC being as some of them can't even help me unless I tell them the make of the phone (!) and give them my IMEI number (which you're never supposed to give out).

Yes, I've had this one too. Haven't really given it much thought other than assuming the tone would sound eventually, maybe after a minute or so.

Same with alarm. More often than not it just don't go o[fe.

Don't know if this is the same issue but if you have a task killer and kill clock it will stop the alarm from working. If you kill the clock you have to go in the clock again or it won't work. I have clock set up as ignored on task panel and I havent missed an alarm so far.

Probably there is a conflict with some other app or widget? I have installed quite a lot of them. I have missed already a couple of alarms resulting in travelling in a packed train. So I would like to the bottom of the problem is possible. Although I should agree: tech support is usually quite useless.

Yesterday i removed some programmes and everything seemed ok: my alarm went off in time and songs were played without stopping. But today I again was having troubles. First of all my two players (one for music and another for audiobooks turned on simulationsly at midnight. In the morningthe alarm did not go off and when I play music the sound often breaks. Also Shopping Savvy application launched by itself.
