I wouldn't say all that. the Photon is Sprint's BEST Phone hands down. It beats the EVO D easily.
Maybe in battery life. Thats about it though.

Hmm. I wasn't aware HTC, Samsung, Motorola and the others offered instructions on how to root the phone...oh wait they don't...those companies are actively seeking ways to lock down the bootloader to stop rooting.
How is Rooting a Android device any different than Jailbreaking an iPhone?
..and while samasung may be lacking they did send a gs2 to the cyanogenmod team so they could dev with it before release and they were the manufacturer of the last nexus phone.
being finally unveiled on oct 4th and i have had every iphone that has ever came out and i must say i really must say i could care less i am so happy with my epic touch 4g
I heard it's not even going to be an iPhone 5, it's going to be an iPhone 4S. I bet it was going to be the iPhone 5, but they knew it was going to fail so they just called it what it was... An upgraded iPhone 4.
I thought there were rumors of both an iphone 4s and a iphone 5. The iphone 4s was rumored to be just an cheaper iphone 4 basically.
Either way it is going to sell millions on just being released.
this is a good explanation but not longer appropriate for the times... when the iPhone launched on AT&T, there were NO other phones truly capable of surfing the web and using data on SUCH A LARGE scale as we commonly see today... the iPhone NOW sucks up no more data than an EVO 4g, EVO 3d, Epic 4g, epic touch 4g, nexus s 4g and so on... if Sprint network can handle all of these high data phones currently available there is NO need to re adjust data usage because of an iPhone launch. if you asked this a few years ago i would have agreed because the network had not proven to handle such a load, but if it can handle the wide variety of High End data intensive phones currently available, it will be fine.
also part of the reason the AT&T network suffered when the iPhone originally launched was mostly due to a sub-par network for the number of users they had (they still have this problem), sprint does not have this problem. their network is capable of the users they currently have as well as many more.
I knew this day would eventually come when rotten fruit would dump on our network stinking up the place worse than it already is. I wish Sprint could have kept the stinky rotten fruit away but business is business. Rotten fruit fanboys flock wherever the stench goes. Too bad the stench has started to permeate Sprint. So much for being an innovative independent network.
Where ever the iphone goes, changes occur. Sprint no longer doing one year contracts. We already seen changes to the premier program and hotspots. All that is left is unlimited data plan. Soon sprint plans will be just like everyone else.
I say we have AT LEAST 1 or 2 years before Sprint gets rid of the unlimited data. It would be suicide for them either way.
