Hey all - I have an Exchange calendar sync issue - can't find this problem anywhere....

I have Email, contacts and calendar all set to sync wirelessly (non data cable via HTC Sync). This works flawlessly for email and contacts but recently stopped working for calendar.

My phone returns the message "The Exchange Server returned some status errors." Cannot find any status errors with the Exchange server....

Any thoughts?

I'm too having an issue syncing my calendar with my exchange server. For the last week the exchange server was down for an upgrage. It was back up on Friday and all the appointments disappeared from the Eris. I can add new appointments on my calendar (by phone or outlook) and they sync but all existing appointments don't. I also can only sync up to the last 3 months of past appointments on the eris without a sync error. After the second manual sync all of my past appointments disappeared as well from the Droid. It's as if the Droid thinks it already downloaded the appointments so it doesn't do it again even though they're not there. I read that on the Motorola were you can remove the exchange calendar power off/on the phone and walk through the exchange wizard.

No solutions - but I've been having the exact same problem for the last few days, which is rather frustrating as I rely on the Eris to tell me where I'm supposed to be when (and to enter appointments when I'm out and about). Hoping it's something funky going on with the server itself and IT will get it sorted out...

Very interested in how this turns out.

I'm on the fence between Eris and HTC Touch Pro2 (WinMo).
Getting good Exchange sync for Contacts, Calendar and email is really important. WinMo obviously is going to give a pretty good synch with the ActiveSync and Eris seems to be a much less certain proposition.

Any other experiences? Are there folks who are getting good sync with no issues?

So it is actually possible to get a good over-the-air sync for contacts, calendar and email without using a third-party app.
Yes the installed works okay unless you are someone who files emails in sub folders. I cannot find a way except through a 3rd party app to file emails in subfolders through the exchange server application installed on my droid.

UPDATE TO Original post:

I reset my phone this weekend and have found that the problem has disappeared. I didn't reset due to this issue but found that it did fix it...

Did you do an actual factory reset, or "just" a battery pull? I just tried doing a battery pull - didn't help. :( After everything coming back, did a forced sync - mail and contacts went through fine, calendar still gave the "The Exchange Server returned some status errors" message. I'm hoping to avoid the total reset.

Here's an update - I have just discovered that the problem with calendar sync is one-way (computer to Eris). I had put something on the Eris calendar last night, and logging into Outlook this morning, noticed it was there. So I put a "test" event on the Eris and watched the computer, and the event popped up on my Outlook (computer) calendar in less than a minute.

But the other direction (computer to Eris) is still giving the message about status errors, and the calendar isn't being updated. This is very odd.

I as well am having a similar problem. I did a factory reset on the phone and it resolved the issue for about two days but it again stopped sync events to the phone. If I accept the meeting on the phone or create a new one on the phone it works but otherwise events from outlook do not make it.

Is there an event log on the phone we view to see this error message. My company is way to large to try and track down an error message from a droid user.

My First question is why are you using HTC Sync if its an exchange calendar? There are options in the phone when setting up email to set up an exchange server. I have my work Exchange calendar and email synced with no issues. I Don't sync the contacts because I don't want that many people in my contacts that I don't need. I can create calendar events on the phone or on the computer no problems and they show up in both places. I would suggest verifying the exchange setup. Its been flawless for me. :)

just got mine fixed. we deleted the exchange account and then readded it. now it's workign great. we'll see if it sticks...

Note: instructions on doing that if needed.... go to settings, data synchoronization, exchange active sync - hit menu button select settings, select configure server, hit menu button - select delete account. Android will remove the account and delete all of your exchange email, contacts, adn calander data. this may take a while (about 10 minutes for me but I get hundreds of emails a day). then when all complete go into the same area and add the account back in. then it will resync everything back (also take s awhile)...

good luck!

FWIW, I am having the same problem with my Incredible. Exchange worked completely for the first two or three days. Email and contacts continue to be fine but the calendar developed the problem described above: an appointment entered on my Incredible calendar shows up on outlook but an appointment entered on Outlook does not show up on my Incredible. Has anyone written HTC about this?

Follow-up Question: To all of you who had this Exchange/Calendar sync problem on the Eris, was Verizon your carrier? I ask because I have this problem on my Verizon Incredible but a friend who has an HTC EVO on Sprint and uses the same Exchange system reports no calendar sync problem.

The Eris is only available through Verizon or one of its subsidiaries.
