Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 for the LG Optimus M MS690

Is there hope for getting ALL of the cyanogenmod settings to work? namely cpu controls and screen animations?

Ive been digging and trying to fix those to things myself. I'd really like the damn cpu controls to work. I am not to learned up on that stuff, I've been digging in my the kernels .config file seeing if i could find anything that would attribute to it not functioning, its either in the kernel, or in the CMParts src. It also looks like it could be a simple permissions issue but that wouldn't explain why SetCPU works and the rom option doesn't. As for the screen animations, I set them to off by default in the build I am working on =)

I asked isaac about the cpu settings thing and he said they were in the cpu attr in the kernel src. Android OC works too to scale the cpu speed.

Shoot me a PM on where to set screen on/off at in the src plz and I have a few kernel questions for ya if you dont mind.

I can't remember exactly where I found those settings but I will look when I get home and let you know. As for the kernel ask away. I will help in anyway I can. I think somewhere in the kernel lies the secret to the screen on an off animation. When I have time I am going to building another and see if I can get those working.

I just tried several recoveries through RM and the ones for LG models don't require any additional steps....just flash and go. I'm currently using the optimus v recovery. Note that newer recoveries may change the hardkey layout of recovery.

So you're actually using a recovery for another model phone (albeit an LG) and not the recovery that playfulgod posted? And they are working? What about USB mass storage? I tried that last night from the recovery posted by pg and I was getting an error and it wouldn't enable mass storage.

umm now you are playing with fire. When a recovery is built its has to have the right partition info. I know for a fact that the OV's partition info is different than the OC/M. It may boot, doesnt mean its working right.

When ya phone wont boot when you flash a rom, dont be surprised ;)

Lol I kinda figured that would be the outcome...I haven't fully tested all of them but so far the only issue I have with the optimus v recovery is a lack of USB connection through recovery. When I get home I'm going to test-flash a few roms and see what happens.

I don't carry spare roms on my SD...only the one I'm using :(

I fixed usb mass storage in my recovery last night when it was brought to my attention is wasnt working. Will require dl and reflashing.

And you got lucky too, I use the OV CWM to dl n flash the new CWM build and I didnt get mine named correctly n it flashed the ov one and I had no recovery until I fixed all my typos lol.

Is the link to the fixed recovery (fixing usb storage) in the original post? I'd like to down load it and re-flash recovery so I can have that working.

If u can see the black LG splash u are gonna be okay...go back to all-things-root and look for the unbrick thread....I've had this happen to me twice a few months ago but its reversable

ROM MANAGERS RECOVERIES ARE A 50/50 SHOT!!! STICK TO PLAYFULGOD'S BUILD IF YOU ARE INTO RISKS!!!
umm did you mean not into risks??? lol

well i just did this and i got stuck at the LG screen anyway someone can help me? kinda pissed im the only one who got the bad end of the deal.

MY PHONE IS BRICKED !

with the recovery or the ROM?

If the recovery just repeat the steps and be sure to name my recovery to the one you downloaded. I had a few mishaps last night but finally got it right. ;)
