how do i apply blarfs recxovery
im using CWM

If you still want to use Blarf's recovery, download it here: https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc/wiki/IHO-Recovery
The instructions are also there. If you use the download link on the main page of this thread, you will get an error (this is because the link on page 1 is no longer valid). Use this link instead to get the most updated version of the recovery AND the instructions on how to install

I am experiencing an mms issue and wonder if anybody has any suggestions. Both my girlfriend and I have the same phone. We were both using the 0820 rom and for some weird reason, only i was receiving audio and notification bar alerts upon receiving text messages with pics. when i send my gf a pic message, the message shows up in the messaging app, but there is no audio alert or messaging bar alert. it only alerts me after i find the message myself manually and download the pic. once the pic is downloaded, then i get an audio and notification bar alert. i made sure 3g data was enabled and tried force stopping the messaging app, deleting the data, and rebooting to no avail.

so anyway, i decided to upgrade both of our roms to the 0831v. i did clean installs on both phones, deleted all necessary cache etc... per the wiki page and her phone has the same issue. she gets text message alerts without a problem when 3g is enabled or disabled, but she never gets alerts when a pic message is sent even with 3g data on. the same thing happens. the alerts only come after i manually go into the messaging app and download the pic.

anybody have any ideas?

Just flashed the 8/31 build after my first try. I "think" downloading the latest green machine theme was the problem. At any rate, coming from the previous build was a piece of cake. So far I can report no issues so far as was the case with the previous build. I don't use half of what this phone can actually do anyway. Thanks so much to the helpful users of this forum and in particular to the folks that create all these great improvements to our pocket playthings. Been a lurker here for a few months and have just found a plethora of information. Thanks to all !!

o followed his direxctions EXACTILLY and i failed and besides is there a way to revert to stock incase of issues

Which directions did you follow? I recommend these, re-read them a few times to absorb all of the info, especially the part about NOT using factory reset. You should be fine as long as you make a proper backup right after rooting and before installing a custom ROM.

I've finally got a chance to install Build #08312011 and can confirm that the headset mic now works. Thanks Jerry+Blarf.
Maybe when you start to run out of bugs to fix you could look into the Gallery. No matter what I've tried it still is a buggy as a hound dog in July, no matter what CPU speed I'm at.
Now that I'm finally employed again after 3 months, once I've caught up,I will be able to show my support for the devs of this ROM. Thanks again for all the hard work.

Just download & use quickpic app instead of the default android gallery3d app. It's much faster and useful.

What exactly are you needing help with?? If you follow Whyzor's tutorial here or even look at mine here, you should be good to go. He uses the gingerbreak method whereas I use the RomTools method. Believe me, I was just as aprehensive as you are when I first started this flashing ROM's thing. That's why I made that tutorial so it will take you step by step and for you to know what to expect during each step.
No matter which tut you want to follow, we're here to help you!!

It upsets me to see you asking me that question for one reason. Last night i took a few minutes of my time to write to you a detailed note of instructions on how to do just that (back-up so that you can restore to stock!). Seeing you ask me this question suggests either i wasted my time then and that i may be wasting my time now, or that you just refuse to look back into the thread to HELP YOURSELF OUT... No one in their right mind will hold your hand through the entire process when throughout this thread is not only the basic instructions but months worth of troubleshooting posts from different members. I suggest you read through the entire post (yes you have to read if you want to do this...) to see if anything here can answer your questions b4 you post anymore of your questions on this thread. At this point your just spamming this thread. Your not the only one who needs help and posting all these questions that have already been answered in previous posts only makes it more difficult for others to search through the thread for what it is they are looking for. This is not a chat its an informative thread and unfortunately no one here can delete yours or anyone elses posts here. Please thank me if you agree...

I rooted my OV this morning and followed all the instructions for installing the BACKside CM7 ROM. I installed BACKside-IHO-VM670-08312011.zip. For some reason, the wi-fi is not operational. It scans, but doesn't find anything. My home network is running fine and there are a number of other networks that it should find as well. Any ideas?
Keith
Update: I didn't go far enough into the settings to actually connect with my wi-fi network...everything seems to be working correctly...sorry, everyone.

geese im sorry i just wanted some asstance to see what did wrong i want cm7 but dont wanna screw up my phone again sorry for the outburst a few nights ago

Here friend. Watch this video and follow it as close as possible except use the recovery here: https://github.com/inferiorhumanorgans/android_device_lge_thunderc/wiki/IHO-Recovery
And the BACKside ROM.
This is probably the easiest way to do it. (By the way, credit to a fellow forum member who posted this). Enjoy :D

NOTE: Don't worry about voiding your warranty because there IS a way to make it back to 100% Stock ROM. Also, you can just exchange the phone again if you brick it anyways right? haha

Some times you can get a corrupt download, especially if you download using your phone because of the slower speed. Try downloading and installing the ROM and gapps again. Make sure if your coming from a stock ROM or a different ROM that you wipe cache partition ,dalvik cache, and wipe data/factory reset. Then format boot, system, data, and cache. If you installed the theme with the ROM and gapps, try waiting until after you have installed and rebooted the ROM and gapps a couple of times.

I just noticed something annoying with the incoming call screen. The "rotary revamped" slider obscures the phone number. I'm not sure how to take a screenshot of it, as the power button hangs up the call. Would be nice if someone could fix it. I do prefer that style.

I noticed that, too. I fixed it by changing the font my phone uses. But I don't know if you'd want to do that...

I'm just now experimenting with the app Widget Locker. It changes your lock screen to however you want it. There are different themes you can use too. Right now I'm trying to get the finger print slider going. I wanted something different other than the standard pull tabs and rotary sliders. There's a whole thread over at xda with tons of themes. Something to look into. :D

just flashed this ROM and am digging the customizable options a lot, however, Go SMS pro won't show any photos from my facebook contacts even though I've synced and have it enabled. this hasn't been a problem with any of the other ROMS i've flashed.

additionally, when my phone starts up it doesn't automatically go to the middle home screen with the dock... it defaults to the one way to the left.

i'm guessing i'm missing some settings option in both of these cases. any help?

:)

thanks.
