I also want to try it out. I actually like the look and functionality it comes with. I played with a friend of mines SGSII. I really liked the way the UI functioned. Very sweet looking. I love the native Email app as well. It has a tablet feel to it. You can look at the list of emails while focused on one email on the right hand side of the screen in landscape mode. I will probably use that one native email app for several accounts. I also like the photo widget they have and it changes every so often. I'm sure it's a setting with time intervals. The re-sizing of widgets are pretty cool to. It just looks sharp and clean.
Regardless of past issues and the Apple hating gang, Samsung is the most innovative Manufacturer in my opinion and I really hope they make the Nexus line from here on out. I lost my love with HTC. Sense is becoming bloaty. It's one thing to have a lot of functionality that matters and are pretty neat, but Sense is just rehashing what was there but in a different way and making more options of what was there before, so duplicates? The leak of Sense 3.5 looked less attractive from what it already was. Their widgets take up the entire screen now. The HTC Hero days was when Sense was new and something to go against IOS. Now Sammy, they bring sexy with power in several categories. This phone should last a customer their entire Contract. If anything, I can understand wanting the Nexus 3 since it's first on everything as far as updates and probably better specs in some areas. Also, rumored to be made by Samsung
. I'm sure we can get a port to other phones including the UK and US versions of the SGSII.
I can't say no to this phone. I was going to skip this and see how Google will play out the launching system for the next Nexus phone. I guess I'll have this and play with IC on my Nexus S 4G (current phone) and debate to trade it in for a Nexus 3 or whatever they call it.
Weird thing is, I upgraded to a NS4G earlier this year, not even 6 months ago. I say April or May is when I picked me up a NS4G. For whatever reason I am still eligible for an upgrade as if I had this phone for a year or two (depending on your status. I am a Gold member, so a year for me). Still, I shouldn't be able to upgrade in the same year I already did. Just makes it easier to get the Epic Touch 4G
. I doubt it will cross over when the Nexus 3 comes out, so I will dish out the money for that one, hoping Google will push it out to several carriers in a timely manner. I can dig it if it's all in the same month but not the same day. In a perfect world it would happen on the same day on every carrier for 199 lol.
