Are you planning on buying the Incredible HD/Vigor/Rezound?

I currently have an Incredible and have been looking at the Bionic. But this Vigor sounds like a nice upgrade. I looked at the Bionic at the Verizon store and it was nice but it was on display next to the Charge and right then I made my mind up to wait for the Vigor. Huge difference in the display. Charge> Bionic. So another month hopefully for a new phone.

It's between this and whatever Samsung comes out with next (to replace/run ahead of the Charge). If it really is an Oct 5th release, then I'd be down. It really depends on what comes first. I don't think I can stand my Thunderbolt for much longer. I love the LTE, but the phone is pure mediocrity.

I'm pretty much in same boat. Was very much looking fwd to Samsung GS2 variant on VZW, but that ain't happening. LTE isn't the big seller for me right now as I live in the Florida Panhandle Redneck Riviera, so no LTE here. Based on tech advances in this part of the world, I may not see it until 2020 . But I travel a lot for work and LTE would be nice then. Since I love my Inc, and really just want something with a bigger screen and beefier specs, I'd be very happy with another HTC super phone. I haven't gone to Tbolt though because of all the negative stuff I have heard about it and LTE seemed to be it's biggest(only) selling point.

I'm liking what I'm seeing about Vigor, but still leaning towards Prime. But just a question:

Where did the October 5th date come from? Verizon releases on Thursdays, and the 5th is a Wednesday.

Hmm. I expect it on the 6th, given that it's already passed FCC.

Of the 6 devices listed releasing the first half of September on that roadmap, only 1 turned out to be true (Bionic).

Yeah, I know...grain of salt stuff, ya know? And someone else already mentioned that the 5th was a Wed. so that didn't hold much water with me either. Plus, the Bionic date had to be right sooner or later, given that it was announced last winter.

Still others are speculating that the Vigor will come with ICS, which pushes it closer to the end of the year. That and the fact that it is on VZW, which always has delays getting phones out, doesn't bode well for an early Oct launch in my opinion.

I don't think Vigor will be launching with ICS. That's reserved for Prime first.
Though I'm anxiously waiting on Prime in November, I will take good look at Vigor and see how it does on battery and speed. I didn't like HTC because they suck in battery of most high end phones like Inc, Evo, Tbolt. But I will try staying open minded to see if they get that right in vigor.

I think the point that Hovercraftdriver is trying to make is that if it has ICS, it will come after Prime, pushing it into late year.

However, I do think that the Vigor will come in early October, without ICS, based on the fact that it already passed FCC. That step usually places it about 30 days out.

I know he meant coming with ICS after Prime. But I still doubt it. I think ICS upgrade will happen next year.

Correct on first point, thanks. And I would definitely agree on second except something deep inside me says that since VZW finally pried away exclusivity of Apple from AT&T, this is why they passed on GS2 and why Bionic may be last of super phones until after launch of Iphone 5. Could definitely be wrong though, Verizon are some greedy bastages.

Waiting for full specs but so far I like and am leaning toward buying this baby so far. ;)

Me too.

I have to honest though I'll be absolutely amazed if this phone gets released before December. Oct 5th is two weeks away... I'm sorry I can't for a second believe VZW as kept it this close under wraps that we don't even have specs. Plus the "possible" name change discussions, you don't do that two weeks before release. the first manufacturing run of the phone would be done and it would be hitting warehouses right now.

Of course my 2yrs isn't up till dec. so I have wait either way :/

I completely agree. I would LOVE to see this thing hit the streets ASAP, but I can't see it coming out any time too soon. This happened to me in February when waiting for my TBOLT. The due date was approaching and there was no real word on the phone. I'm no officianado, but I think they would want a little REAL hype time before launching this baby. I hope I'm wrong.

Same way with Inc too. They advertise the he11 out of the Droids but everything else just kind of appears with next to no fanfare, if any at all. And usually that info comes from 3rd party like bestbuy first it seems. And the worst thing is, if it isn't up to big red's standards, they may delay or even never release it.
