Beast or Smoked.....Smoked Beast?

Anybody have a strong opinion one way or the other as far as the latest versions of Smoked Glass and Bugless Beast?

I've been running Beast for about a week now and have no complaints (besides not for the life of me getting Wireless tether to work), but it looks like Adamz and Pete are both trying to do the same thing, the new Smoked looks like its just a little further ahead as far as getting everything uniform appearence wise....and I like the blue replacing the standard android green. What does everybody think, is it worth it to once again re-set everything up, or is there some glaring weakness with Smoked that puts Beast well over the top quality wise?

(Personally I think those two developers should just team up and go at it from there.)

What's the learning curve on metamorph like? I was looking at it last night and decided I didn't wanna mess with it just yet.

Not to bad but you do have to try to understand what you are doing. You're actually changing files on your droid so as long as you make a Nandroid back-up BEFORE you do anything...you'll be fine. Here are some good threads to help:

I personally have used both, I never had one hiccup with adamZ's smoked glass rom as opposed to a few bugs with the BB rom. once I reflashed the BB rom though those went away. Having said that these two roms are more or less the exact same thing with some differences. I am currently using the BB rom because it takes away the autorotate on the home screen which i hated anyway. idk if the new update for smoked glass rom does that too but I am to lazy to flash back to the smoked glass rom. Although the smoked glass rom can be had in any clock (600-1100) without having to use taz's boot img. pretty much though i dont think you can go wrong with either of them

Which version of BB are you running? All of mine do auto-rotate, which I actually like.

And, I'm not sure if this was made clear, but the theme included in BB is Smoked Glass....

Is it worth it upgrading from 0.7.3 to 0.7.4? It works soo much better using the nandroid back up than just updating, at least it did for me. I really don't want to wipe my phone again.

I was a staunch supporter for nandroid, but I broke down and used update.zip for .3 to .4 and it worked perfectly. I opted for this because, at the time of release, people were reporting issues with the nandroid file. Didn't have the patience to wait, backed up my phone and went ahead with update.zip. Worked and still works well.

Yeah right before I read your post I said eff it and I used the update.zip. Seems to be fine. It's just when I first installed Beast I used the update.zip and was like speed meh... Then I did a Nandroid backup and was like speed Woah!

What problems are you having with the Wifi tether? Did you download the .apk from here: android-wifi-tether - Project Hosting on Google Code
It works really well for me, I used it quite a bit at the airport the other day and it tracks how much data you're using.

Yeah thats where I got mine from. Tried in on multiple (and stock) roms, and it just doesn't work. Seems to install fine, hit the button that says "push here to start tethering" and it turns on, there is just no data transfer. Is there another step that I have to do, something in VPN that I have to set up on the phone for it to work?

"push here to start tethering," will only turn it on. You then have to connect to it. Then it will show data rates.
