Hey, this is my first post and i'm pretty new to all this malarky.

I recently got the HTC G2 Touch and sometimes it is a great phone and sometimes it's the most expensive brick i've ever bought. I was wondering if anyone could answer a couple of questions,

1. I'm surprised the phone doesn't have a music equalizer. Are there any apps that do this?

2. Toon Warz lags on my phone quite alot. Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

3. When I play a song there is a stutter at the beginning of each song, is there any way to stop this? And when I press pause it doesn't pause straight away, or when using the buttons on the headphones.

4. Why can't I find Doom on the market? I've searched literally everything!

5. If I buy a game, does it just get charged onto my phone bill?

6. I know that you can uninstall a game within 24 hours and you won't be charged, but couldn't you just uninstall and reinstall an app every 24 hours and not get charged?

Thank you very much in advance to who ever helps me with this!

Edit:
7. I have firmware 1.5, build version 2.72.110.26, is this the most recent version?

1. There probably are music player apps that can do this. You'll need to search the Market

2. Email the developer

3. Yes I've noticed this. Try some of the other music players on the Market

4. I can't see it either. It may be limited to certain countries. There's something called Market Enabler that will help but I've never used it myself.

5 and 6. You have to have a Google Checkout account which you attach to your credit/debit card. You are charged immediately then refunded if you uninstall within 24 hours. No you can't fiddle it because the Google Market will remember you from before. This has an upside because if you have to change your phone it will remember which apps you have paid for and allow you to download them again without having to pay a second time.

7. Yes

1. I've had a quick look at some of the most popular, nothing yet. I quite like the stock one, except it can be laggy sometimes.

2. Ok cool.

3. Alright sounds good.

4. I'll check it out mate.

5 and 6. Ah, that's makes alot more sense. Thank you.

7. Alright, i've heard about 1.6? Is that available as I see T-Mobile do have a ROM update on their website?

As you have already found out - the G2 is a T-Mobile badged HTC Hero. Currently the Hero uses Android 1.5 enhanced with HTC Sense - the latest build being 2.73. There's a minor update out this week for the generic HTC Hero and the Orange version though I don't know if T-Mobile will be supporting it. I'm not too bothered at this stage as I would not re-flash my phone just for a minor update unless it fixed a specific issue that I was having. T-Mobile were late with the 2.73 build.

HTC announced some time ago on Twitter that they would skip Android 1.6 and go straight to 2.1 though building HTC Sense into it was going to take some time. An Irish network let it slip recently that they are expecting this to be ready at the end of March. Hopefully T-Mobile will release a T-Mobile specific build shortly afterwards. If they don't then I'll root my phone and install a generic Hero rom on it.
