Which Verizon "supah-fone" are you waiting for?

It's hard to beat a vanilla android device. Other than matching screen resolution on the vigor and RAZR, they'll probably be outmatched otherwise. My guess is PenTile won't matter at that pixel density.
I would agree with you except that all we know about the Nexus is rumored at this point. There is still some doubt as to whether it will come to VZW pure vanilla. And, I will add that as long as the phone can be rooted you can have the vanilla android experience regardless of how it starts out.

I put in my vote for the Spyder/RAZR. The main reason for my choice, which could change any second, is looks. I really wanted an SGS2, which looks like this:

However the Nexus Prime supposedly is like a big Nexus S:

Whereas the Spyder/RAZR looks like this:

One definitely looks more like the SGS2 than the other. I know I will probably at least want to wait until I can hold them both. :p

The rumors say it wont be stock vanilla android so that is why I am hesitant to wait until november or later for what could essentially be a version of the sgs2 but with lte.

Wish SGS2 was an option for us :(
Me too...
I'm intrigued by the Spyder, don't have anything but a few whiffs of rumor about Dinara, kind of like the OG slider but am willing to learn how to use a virtual one if the display real estate is big enough............
How about the Note?
I really like the idea of the Note and I would be seriously interested except I heard it's not coming to the US?

you should rename this to android only handsets, cause you forgot the iphone5 :p

but in all honesty, i would go for motorola, but the encryption of bootloaders has scorned me for the last time, and all new devices continue to be encrypted when they stated they would work together with the dev community on a solution by the end of the year, granted its still september, but i just dont see them doing it, so i will be moving to the samsung droid prime :p

I really would like to see more info on the Dinara however my upgrade date is March 2012 so I won't be seriouly looking until Jan or Feb of next year.

Verizon let me know that I can upgrade now by signing an new 2 year contract, but if I wait until next March I can get an additional "Loyalty" discount.

I'm sure lots of phones will be released between now and next Mar in addition to lots of rumored phone after the 1st of the year.

One of the most important reasons I'm in no hurry to upgrade is my "X" has been such a sweet phone for me. None of the reported problems have affected me. (I had everything crossed as I typed that last sentence)

I want the razor, spyder, HD, whatever the final name will be.
I thought about the Prime but Samsung has a track record of slow updates and GPS problems.

I am waiting to get my first smartphone. I want Verizon. I have been waiting for the Prime. What is the deal with slow updates and GPS problems? Endgadget has a review of Sprint's version of the Samsung G S II and it looks excellent. I am very concerned about battery life.

Samsung just always seem to be last to the party with OS updates. I wanted the fascinate until I read all of the complaints about the other Galaxy S devices GPS not finding satellites or taking a very long time to do so, and being inaccurate. A coworker of mine has a Samsung 4G device on Sprint and he complains about the GPS too.

I just re-read the Sprint GS II review (Samsung Epic 4G Touch):
Samsung Epic 4G Touch review -- Engadget

It appears the GPS problem has been fixed. From what I have read, the problem with Sprint is their network. It is tiny. One can pay extra for roaming. The roaming includes voice, text, and 1x data with Verizon. It seems the problem with Sprint is that once you leave their small native network, you lose 3G and 4G.

As long it is vanilla ice cream sandwhich, which will be upgraded by Google (not hindered by Verizon), then I vote the Droid Prime. It does not matter to me if Verizon throws on bloat, just leave the OS alone and allow me to theme and do whatever else I want!
Looks like between poems, rumors, and leaks you may be getting your wish for vanilla on the Prime: System App List for the Galaxy Nexus Leaks: No Bloatware in Sight, Lots of New Stuff - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog
