Does the LED only work when charging? How do I make it work for all alerts. I can't believe it doesn't blink for messages, VM's, etc.

Is there an app for this?

I am beginning to wonder about this Android stuff. So many basis things it doesn't do.

HANDCENT is not the answer. It does not work very well on the ERIS and it doesn't provide for all notifications types.

If anyone is familiar with Blackberries think BerryBuzz.

I had Buzz. Worked very well. I wish there was an app like that for Android.

And agreed that Handcent options for the LED don't work for the Eris. I tried!

Looking for a similar app. I'm using "Missed Call" v0.8.8 right now, but it's buggy and has no repeating voicemail alerts. Also, I've noticed that my LED and trackball notifications stop working after about 5 minutes or so. Is this normal Android behavior to save battery life or something? Or is it maybe a bug related to Missed Call?

It should blink (green blink) when a notification is present for Gmail. Pretty sure it does that whether plugged into a power source or on battery.

i believe chomp sms and sms popup give you the option to change the led blinking color. ive never tried to change it, but if i have a notification, (text, missed call, voicemail etc.) it blinks green.

ChompSMS's 'option' of changing the LED color does not work.

recommend google voice for all texting ;] though they have more work to do on it.
