iphone for sprint

Hmm. I wasn't aware HTC, Samsung, Motorola and the others offered instructions on how to root the phone...oh wait they don't...those companies are actively seeking ways to lock down the bootloader to stop rooting.

How is Rooting a Android device any different than Jailbreaking an iPhone?

As stated by AndroidPCS, HTC currently has instructions posted on how to unlock their most recent releases and have promised in the future to deliver unlocked devices when they are able. Google has bought Motorola and it's widely believed google will not be releasing locked phones. Samsung is lagging. And to reiterate my other point we are talking about multiple manufactueres and multiple phones, not 1 phone every 18 months or so.

Sprint reportedly capping its mobile hotspot plans October 2nd -- Engadget

the last bastion of unlimited data, gone. On the phone unlimited is preserved, but even PAYING an extra 30 dollars limits the data to their relatively bandwidth rich spectrum with 4g with a cap of 5 GB? REALLY?

REALLY ?!???!?!?!?!?!?!

garbage

I wonder if they will start sniffing packets to try and tease out whether a user is using a tethering app with a rooted phone and auto upgrade them to the capped data plan. Either way, the iphone is POISON for lovers.

I went with the lowest minutes used plan for sprint, I mainly care about the data, that was the WHOLE point.

I heard it's not even going to be an iPhone 5, it's going to be an iPhone 4S. I bet it was going to be the iPhone 5, but they knew it was going to fail so they just called it what it was... An upgraded iPhone 4.

I thought there were rumors of both an iphone 4s and a iphone 5. The iphone 4s was rumored to be just an cheaper iphone 4 basically.

Either way it is going to sell millions on just being released.

sprint may have the necessary bandwidth on paper...

but as for my butt in seat.... it is slow.. and needs help.
which I truely hope the Vision upgrade will make it better.. I dont expect faster than LTE.. just much better than it is.

because ATT and Verizon have much higher plans for service... i think sprint may attract a lot of new users.. that want iphones with better service pricing... this will of course use more of the available bandwidth.. and we all should feel the effects from that.

this is a good explanation but not longer appropriate for the times... when the iPhone launched on AT&T, there were NO other phones truly capable of surfing the web and using data on SUCH A LARGE scale as we commonly see today... the iPhone NOW sucks up no more data than an EVO 4g, EVO 3d, Epic 4g, epic touch 4g, nexus s 4g and so on... if Sprint network can handle all of these high data phones currently available there is NO need to re adjust data usage because of an iPhone launch. if you asked this a few years ago i would have agreed because the network had not proven to handle such a load, but if it can handle the wide variety of High End data intensive phones currently available, it will be fine.

also part of the reason the AT&T network suffered when the iPhone originally launched was mostly due to a sub-par network for the number of users they had (they still have this problem), sprint does not have this problem. their network is capable of the users they currently have as well as many more.

There is amble reason for us to be concerned. Sprint's network can currently handel our data useage, but all of the Apply fanboys that come out of the wodwork could screw us. We will need tojust wait and see how popular the Sprint iPhone is and tak eit from there.

I knew this day would eventually come when rotten fruit would dump on our network stinking up the place worse than it already is. I wish Sprint could have kept the stinky rotten fruit away but business is business. Rotten fruit fanboys flock wherever the stench goes. Too bad the stench has started to permeate Sprint. So much for being an innovative independent network.

Where ever the iphone goes, changes occur. Sprint no longer doing one year contracts. We already seen changes to the premier program and hotspots. All that is left is unlimited data plan. Soon sprint plans will be just like everyone else.

I say we have AT LEAST 1 or 2 years before Sprint gets rid of the unlimited data. It would be suicide for them either way.

At the rate everything else is disappearing with Sprint, I would bet that we see unlimited data go away sooner rather than later. They have made some fairly major changes already, and once the bushels of iFruit users move over to Sprint and realize just how much roaming data is being used with the iFruit, I am willing to bet we see it axed shortly after that.

If they don't axe the unlimited data, I woulnd't be surprised to see the "allowable amount" of roaming data each month be substantially reduced.
