Help Updating PRL?

i noticed my Esteem is 3018..Is there possible to update it to the latest PRL which is 3023? im not getting 3G..is there possible to get 3G on the esteem? since in my house i get only 1 bar of 4G and it goes down to 1X frequently

I used *228 last night and it moved up to 3019. Been working fine afterwards though.

Can't you update it using LGNPST since it's a phone made by LG? I think you need the MS910.dll before you can update using LGNPST.

Now that the LG Esteem can be rooted. Would there be away to install the 3023.prl with rootExplorer? or does it need to be done with LGNPST software?

Can't you update it using LGNPST since it's a phone made by LG? I think you need the MS910.dll before you can update using LGNPST.

I was able to force the PRL onto my Esteem using lgnpst, and the VS910.dll (since I couldn't find the MS910.dll anywhere)from the Evolution. You don't get all the info from the phone, but the PRL can be updated.

I get 3g icon in certain areas so yes 3g works

First download 3024.prl
I found out through massive trial and error with qpst and lgnpst that the VS740.dll will work to use to update your PRL i dont know if u can use it for any other features. I tried the VS910.dll but it never worked, never could get it to register could have been a bad file either way the VS740.dll is included with lgnpst in the following guide and it works!
Next follow this guide word for word and you should have no problems updating your PRL. Only after you do step 15 STOP FOLLOWING THE GUIDE! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT THE FOLLOWING GUIDE IS TO RESTORE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PHONE!

Select the prl tab its right next to where it says script.
Make sure write is selected then click prl file, select nam1 and nam2.
Then to the right is a little icon that looks like a folder; click it and select the prl file you downloaded in the beginning.
Finally click start. Enter your spc code. use the converter here MEID Converter - Free MEID and ESN conversion tool type your imei number(its in the settings menu > about phone > status) then click convert and it will show your metropcs SPC number. Type that in the box and hit enter. Let it do its thing and you should be good to go.
I tried everything in all the other threads and it just would not work until i did it this way. I havent dropped out of 4g service since the update!

PS: non-related but using the usb port to charge this phone is a waste of time gotta use the wall adapter that came with the phone or it'll never charge!

Update yor PRL of your LG Esteem using CDMA workshop.

First download and install LG mobile support in your PC and run it, activate usb debugging in your Esteem (configuration, applications, development, usb debugging), plug your telephone to your PC and follow the indications that the program will give you to install your Esteem drivers. Mobile Support .

If you have not installed the update that LG I release for the Esteem, you can do it now but I notice to you that it took up to 30 minutes depending on your equipment and your connection.
Once you installed the controllers, connect your telephone to the PC and when your Esteem asks you for the connection method choose: internet connection, ready.
Open the device manager of your PC and look for the port that your Esteem is using, write it. See mine here it’s using com5.

Run Cdma Workshop, connect your Esteem, (a) click in the tab main, (b) now in the section: COM Settings (above right) click in drop-down list COM to choose the port of your telephone, (c) click in connect, (d) click in read. Now all the information of your telephone will appear to the left within the program.

If it does not do it, must review the drivers, activate usb debugging in your phone, and the telephone must be connected in Internet way (connection type).
Now must to get your SPC code, (a) click in the tab security, (b) in SPC section (above to the right) click in the list and chooses LG method, (c) click in read, now in the little square at the right appears your SPC code, (d) click in button SPC and click in SEND, will appear the message: SPC is correct. Phone is unlocked.

Now you are going to change the PRL to the telephone. (a) click in the tab OTHER, (b) find the section PRL (above to the right) click in the drop-down list of the left and chooses LG method, now in the drop-down list of the right chooses NAM1, (c) click in write, now browse for the file 3025.prl double click in and ready, it will have to appear the message that your prl has been updated successfully.

Now take a look to the configuration of your Esteem to confirm that your PRL is the 3025 of metropcs.
If by some cause you were not successful, do not worry, simply repeats all the steps with calm and I am sure you will get success. If even so you do not obtain it or your telephone I remain without signal, simply do a *228 and that’s all you will get back you original PRL.

well i have tryed your steps and they have worked im runing on win7 x32 .... but i try the prl 3024 and it didnt connet to network at all... then i tryed the prl 3023, and that one worked perfect im geting 3g on my lg esteem when im on around the 4g coverage.

The drivers were installed once I connected the phone to my PC. I also tried using the LGNPST method and it says no port connected. I did everything right, so what the heck is going on?

Never mind I figured out how to do it myself. Updating from 3019 to 3025 showed no real difference. But my 4g hasn't dropped like it was with the stock 3018.

3018 is way off, even if you had 3019, you wouldn't had an issue.
