Incredible 2 TV Out?

Ok, quick background:

I had a DINC1, upgraded to gingerbread and could no longer receive texts. VZW replaced my DINC1 with a DINC2.

I had a cable that plugged into my DINC1 and then into the Audio/Video of my TV (analog) and would display what ever was on my phone.

Primarily, I used this for Netflix while at hunting camp (no cable/internet, but get 3G). Unfortunately, the cable is not compatible with the DINC2 because of the shape of the plug.

I have been searching a lot and cant seem to find a similar solution for the DINC2. Is there anything out there to get my phone to display to my TV without having a DNLA TV?

I dont care if its analog or HDMI, just need something to get my phone on the TV.

I found this, but I dont want to buy it if it doesnt work.

Does anyone know if you can use an MHL adapter to use the HDMI feature?

Thanks!!

What kind of cable were you using? The only cable that I know of that will plug into the phone (aside from the micro hdmi cables that some phones have) is the micro USB. Which means that the plug should be compatible with both phones. If you can give us a link to the cable you were using, then we might be able to help you better.

As for that adapter, it looks like it should work. The specs don't say it is compatible with the DInc2, but it does say it is compatible with HTC phones. From what I can tell, it has a micro USB plug for the phone and the adapter had a HDMI and micro USB port for the TV and charging. It's $30 so you'll just have to decide if you think it's worth the risk of it not working.

I was using the below, but because its a "square" plug, it wont plug into the DINC2. Even though DINC1 charges with the microUSB, the port is an odd square shape that allows for the plug I was using. The DINC2 uses a straight microUSB plug setup.

Basically, I'm looking for something similar if anyone knows of one...

From what I read, DINC2 doesnt do HDMI out, so i didnt think a microUSB to HDMI would work. I am absoultely fine with analog though, so if there was microUSB to Component, I would be absolutely fine with it.

Thanks again for the help, let me know if I need to explain better.

Very interesting that that cable doesn't fit the port. From what I know, it is a micro USB plug. I did read a couple reviews on Amazon stating that some cases are just thick enough that they block the plug from fitting the port completely. Other than that, I am not sure why it wouldn't fit.

I don't think the HDMI out would have anything to do with it. SD signals transmit through HDMI just fine, so it shouldn't cause any problems with the signal being pulled from the phone to the tv. At least I wouldn't think it would...

Just got a response from HTC:

Thank you for contacting HTC Technical support about if your Droid Incredible 2 device has a video out option on it. I do apologize that you have this issue with your device and I will gladly assist you with this today. The Incredible 2 device does not support any video out features. I do apologize for all the inconvenience that this may cause you.

How ridiculous. I expected video out on this phone in some form since the Incredible had it. What were they thinking? And most of the spec sheets said it had it.

Found this as well... anyone know if it works? While not listed as compatible, I would see no real reason why it wouldnt be if the plug fits, which it looks like it should.

Has anyone tried this cable? I don't care about video, just audio. I am looking to connect my phone to stereo with a line-level feed. And yes, I know I can use the headphone output, but the signal that comes from it is garbage and I don't want to fry my speakers. Thanks.

New here but throwing in my two cents. I spoke to someone on the phone at HTC United States Support a few weeks ago and a representative told me that a micro-usb to hdmi cable will work for tv-out functionality. I haven't used a cord to test it myself though, and I'm not sure if anyone else has done so.

Edit: I think both of us are a stupid because there is no such cord.

I have the cable described above from my Dinc 1. It worked fine on the Dinc 1, but please know that is does not work on the Dinc 2. I'm still looking. HTC support person told me that the only way to get the images to the TV is via my network using DLNA. I'm still trying to figure that one out and will report back if it works.
