Although I'm completely new to Android I couldn't stand many of the features on the Behold 2, mostly the tiny unlock button on the side that I had a hard time locating (big hands). The Behold 2 also has the charge connector on the top of the device making it very difficult to talk on the phone if using a car charger at the same time.

Right away I can tell the Fender is a better device and setup. The layout and menu options are much simpler and easier to use/understand. The Behold 2 could have been a great device without the TW interface and all the other Samsung garbage they tried to intertwine with Andriod. Definitely not worth it for a camera with more pixels and a flash.

omg im so sick of people talking shit about the touchwiz, its so simple to turn it off, just download a home replacement and a better keyboard and then its just like your fender edition or any other android phone

Like I said, I'm new to Android. If the TW can be removed completely, along with that useless cube button, then perhaps it'd be much better. But so far, this Fender seems about twice as fast and yes, I had a task killer on the Behold that I was using frequently to keep the speed up. IDK, maybe the 288 MB of ram that makes it seem faster :)

Yeah, TW goes a lot deeper than just the home screen.
For instance even with GDE, if you go to the settings icon in the drawer, you get touchwiz stuff. If you click menu, then control panel, then general phone settings then you get the cupcake stuff.
It is nice, but I personally do not like TW.

Well congrats on the move to HTC, its definitely the better move! Hope you enjoy your Android experience now!

I thought of the Behold II myself but a CS Rep (store) told me they were having a number of problems reported by customers so I stayed away from it. All I have at the moment is the myTouch which I really like a lot. It can sometimes be slow to respond but I can live with it. I just love everything else about it and the Fender only improves on it. Be curious to see what the myTouch slide brings to the table other than the obvious keyboard.

Got the Behold II as well and I agree. I played with the fender and it does seem much faster even though it has less RAM than the Behold. Although to play devil's advocate, once you kill touchwiz and load Galaxy ROM it runs faster than the fender and pretty much owns any TMO phone on the shelf. I still think I'm going to pick up the MT3G 1.2 as I'm getting fed up with Samsung's gimmickry and cluelessness as to when it'll update to 2.1.

The Fender and MT3G 1.2 are both already slated to get 2.1 whereas the BH2 is still just a rumor.
