Root [ROM][WIP] BACKside ROM (CM7) + Green Machine Theme

I've been having camera issues lately where it will randomly stop working it will look as to capture then freeze up and not save the image.
Same thing I was having happen.

And as AndyOpie said, did not like the center placement of the clock. I wasn't sure if that was a 09282011 build thing, or GreenMachine (first time I flash GreenMachine was with MsFett's using 09282011 and when I flashed mine to that build I also flashed GreenMachine).

Glade you mentioned that. I was having problems with my phone when I would flash the theme with the ROM and Gapps. Once I started waiting until a couple of reboots of the NEW Build then installing the theme the force closure and freeze's Quit. You might also go to Dev Tools and run the "media scanner" option.
It could be the load were putting on the processor already isn't helping.

If your SDcard already has an ext partition, then your all set...no need to make a new one. I made that statement because Windows based systems sometimes don't get thing right ;)
Keep your current recovery if it is backing up, restoring, and flashing correctly. I list that recovery because it works good with my OV.
The current a2sd that is in my ROM works, but it hasn't been as efficient at moving apps to the SDcard as was in the past. I don't mind it leaving apps that need to be on the phones memory, like keyboard and widgets, but lately it's been leaving apps on the phone that should have been moved. I haven't figured out why, yet. I may upgrade it to a newer beta version soon.
Bob

Well, aside from all of these, I am liking your ROM! I especially like the SmartA$$V2! min480/max844 and running smooth.. ;)
Thank you! :D

Has anybody checked out the Sonygenmod(did not miss spell it) v1.0 alpha ROM. Looks like it's based off of the BACKside ROM,but a decidedly different look, and some interesting apps as well.
Curiosity got the better of me and I had to flash it,I couldn't help it,really I couldn't.
Well don't keep us in suspense, give us more details!! :D If I'm reading that thread in XDA correctly, he should have an update for it tonight. I seen a few youtube videos of it and I really like it so far.

I don't use the theme. I am also having issues where when I install or uninstall it pops up system not responding I hit wait and that's it no real issue just that pop up. It has been happening on the last two builds, camera and system error, but it does seem to be happening since I ran super charge. Its the a way to reverse the script? May be what's causing the issue and don't want to reflash at the moment because it takes so long since I'm using link2SD.

I'm having an issue with the status bar. It keeps going blank. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I did find a gadget to restart it, but it doesn't make any of the items (3G icon, the time etc) come back.
Most times the problems you are experiencing will resolve themselves after a couple of reboots. Try rebooting the ROM a couple of times to tighten it up and settle it down.

Some "V"'s don't like if you installed the theme with the ROM and gapps, makes the ROM glitchy. You can solve this by reflashing and waiting to flash the theme after a couple of reboots.

The new IHO-CM7 ROM's don't like even the slightest bit of residual data and will act glitchy. You can solve this by reflashing the ROM and doing all these things(this must be done when installing a new ROM or restoring a backup).
1.wipe cache partition.
2.wipe dalvik cache
3.wipe data/factory reset. Now that your rooted YOU MUST NEVER USE THE FACTORY RESET IN THE PRIVACY MENU ON THE PHONE
4.format boot,system,data,and cache
5.go to install zip from sd card
6.go to select zip from sd card, chose the ROM first. It will go thru the install procedure. When done go back to step 6. and select the gapps.
When all this is done select reboot system now.
If you have a recovery other than a ClockWorkMod recovery you might have to wipe and format 1-4 two or three times.I had to do this with my "V" because I have a slightly inferior processor(no two processors are manufactured the same). I installed the aospCWMod recovery to allow me to do 1-4 only one time.

If you want to install a theme all you have to do is go into the recovery and wipe cache partition and dalvik cache, then do the same thing you did to install the ROM(theme must remain zipped).

When you need to install an update to an installed ROM,all you have to do is wipe cache, and dalvik.

To change the boot animation (must remain zipped) go to /system/media(make sure that you have changed permission of the system from r/o to r/w) and delete the boot animation found there. Then copy the boot animation you have on the sd card and paste it where the old animation used to be(on next reboot it will be there).

This current build doesn't seem to me to be as stable as the last two (it could be just my Imagination). Try backing your CPU speed down a notch at a time to see if that works. Also try Downloading ROM Manager and run the "Fix Permissions" option.
As far as V6 is concerned, you might have to wait on JerryScript to answer your Script problem. Do you have the Script Manager on the sd card or the phone?

EDIT: It could very well be the V6 supercharger causing the problem. I set mine up for this Sonygenmod ROM I installed(based on the newest BACKside build) and after I did option 12 then reboot. It started into a boot loop and I had to pull battery. Going to backup of the #09192011 build.
Something of a weird note: I have noticed that all the ROM's/builds that didn't get along too well with my phone/processor, when I go into recovery to install backup, and go to wipe Dalvik cache and select that option, there's a lagg of about 10-12 sec before the confirm page pops up. This happens on only the ROM/builds that I have to unistall because of system glitches, crashes.

Connecting to wifi with this build has really been a chore. If I disconnect and try to connect, it won't let me connect until I hit the button a few times. I saw a fix on the other page but just thought I'd put it out there. Also Words With Friends has been force closing on me since using this build. Don't know if the two are related and if so that would just be weird haha.

I thought I would try the MiRaGe ROM with BobZhome v3.1 kernel just for laughs and grins. I used ROM Manager v4.5.0.1 to flash obijohn's update wiper.zip, the ROM,and the Gapps, took 4 min. 20sec. from the time I selected the app to reboot into system with the new ROM installed. Let me see you beat that time manually installing.
This is a tighter ROM than anything running the BobZhome v2 kernel. This ROM (sorry JerryScript but I thought you would like to know) and 2 others that I've tried that were running the v2 kernel were so hard to deal with. I had force closures and reboots, and freezes galor.

I think the v2 kernel should be scrapped in favor of the v3.1 kernel. Not a glitch one so far and WiFi and 3G doesn't lagg from screen off anywhere near like the v2 kernel. Will test out this ROM with the v3.1 kernel more. Will run V6 and CPU at 787MHz-480Mhz then run a stability test, then a scaling stability test. Then AnTuTu,then Quadrant standard all at the same CPU speed.
Rebooted both times from V6 better and faster than I can remember in a long time.
I think so far this v3.1 kernel rocks.

EDIT: Your killing me JerryScript. I went thru all this flashing, restoring apps,to find out if the v3.1kernel was better, and here you go and release the BACKside just minutes after. Who'd a thunk it. If I could have just waited another 15 minutes all I would have had to do was do an update. That's ok I'll just have to delete this ROM and do a fresh install of your newest ROM with the v3.1 kernel. With ROM Manager It takes less than 1/4 of the time.
