$719 no contract price? Yikes!
Edit: Amazon is $599

Be careful with Amazon, if you buy under contract from them and cancel your service before 6 months they charge you an EXTRA $250 on top of AT&T's ETF. Not sure if that is worth the $50 savings you get from them.

Because they don't have them today that means they won't have them? Give them a couple days. At least until tomorrow (Mon).

Yeah Costco doesnt seem to target the people who would show up for the phone today anyways, I was just concerned because it is not on the website.

BTW: Has anyone bought a phone at Costco and been able to exchange it within the 90 day return window?

My BB was out by the time I got there this afternoon even though the website said that store had them in stock. The guy I spoke to said they went fast first thing this morning. He offered to order one for me (they can order them online for us even though we can't through the website yet), but said I'd probably get it faster by waiting for the Monday night shipment. So here I am, twiddling my thumbs and living vicariously through those of you that didn't have to wait to be added as an authorized user on your family plan this morning [sigh].

And my Walmart had their dummy model but no phones as yet.

Yeah, I called to see if I could use one of my "dumb phone" upgrades on my account and she said if I cancel the data they would charge me $250. Also when if you order from them they deactivate the other phone. She told me to try ATT corporate to do the cross upgrade switch thingy.

I called around local stores furiously Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Costco, Best Buy, WalMart, and Target all said they would be getting the phone but NOT on release day. Radio Shack in the mall had them in stock by Saturday, but couldn't sell them till Sunday. Radio Shack closest to me didn't know what I was talking about.

I was about to call it quits and just order from amazonwireless when I checked out my local AT&T store on Sunday. They had them in stock, for $199. BUT, they were giving away a free case (blah), a free car charger (meh), and either a free "premium" bluetooth headset or a free 16gb SD card. Since I already had a 16gb SD card, I went with the bluetooth headset. They let me pick out pretty much any headset I wanted in the entire store. They recommended a Motorola one that cost $99. For free. I felt like I got a pretty good deal. :)

Oh, and the lady who sold it to me was nice enough to ask me if I wanted her to transfer contacts and set it up for me. I asked if it was possible to get it in a box unopened, since I already had a 4g SIM card from a previous Thrill upgrade. She had absolutely no problem with that and let me have it unopened in the box. And she gave me her cell number to call if I had any problems. I'm telling you, if I wasn't happily married I probably would have called her to ask her out, she was that nice (and knowledgeable). I couldn't believe it.

The assistant manager came by to ask if everything was going OK. I asked him if something strange was going on because this was very un-AT&T-like to give me free stuff, be utterly pleasant, and agree to everything I asked for. He just kinda laughed. Told him I was very pleased, and thanked both of them for the great experience I had. It was really surreal.

Isn't MO the "Show Me" State? Well, I say SHOW ME! :D

Here in NJ the only thing they give you is the receipt, you're lucky to even get a bag. By the way, every ATT store here has plenty. Store I was in today says they aren't selling probably due to the big iPhone announcement tomorrow.

In California they are going like Hotcakes. I tried to help my Brother find one this morning. We tried every store we could think of in 3 towns, no luck. They all said they sold out by yesterday afternoon.

I'll try to remember to take a picture of my loot when I get home from work. Most of it is still in the box.

Proof, as requested. You can see by the receipt that they changed the price of the phone to $34.98 to charge full price for the accessories, but the total came out to $199 just the same. Image resized to save my bandwidth. :)

Also, yes, I realize AT&T's retail on accessories is ridiculous. It's a $5 charger, a $5 case, and a $35 headset. But they were free to me nonetheless. :)

You probably talked to Ellen. She's been there for years, and is the most knowledgeable ATT rep I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. She knows the internal customer management and provisioning systems inside and out. I don't live in that area and I make the drive just to have her deal with my account whenever I have upgrades, as I have a somewhat complicated profile (bundled billing/services, corporate affiliation (FAN #), grandfathered unlimited data plan, etc.) and she's managed to keep and stack my discounts better than anyone else I've ever run across.

I'm glad to hear she's still there, and deserves all of the customer service praise. And yeah, I can confirm she's pretty easy on the eyes too. There's a lucky guy out there somewhere, I'm sure.

No, the business card is Kellie Medcalf.

The phone showed up for AT&T on Costco.com yesterday afternoon.

I ordered it and paid $149.99. The customer rep said that it was going to be available online only for the first two weeks.

Interesting, I just checked again and now the phone isn't listed online.

It was there this morning too but by the time I got it in my cart, it said OUT OF STOCK. So I assume that's why they took it off the site?

$149.99 plus you get a freebie pack with a screen protector, car charger and belt pouch. Best deal yet I guess...
