 How much B S did you have to go through before M3TRO PC5 would just give up. I bought (2) LG Optimus M's in August and they both would freeze and or reboot so they(MPCS) got me two new phones in September. Then again they both would freeze and or reboot so I am getting two new phones in October. I and they have done everything that they can do to FIX THE REBOOTING and FREEZING and REBOOTING and REBOOTING and the RE........Bootng. I am at my last straw, if the NEW phones do the same thing what can I do.

They ALL do that stock. Root it and throw a Cyanogen ROM on it and you'll never have this issue again.

You are not the only one having this problem, my optimus froze/reboot like 10 times a day depending on my usage. Killing tasks was a temporary solution but didnt help much. Rooting is your best choice, but its still sad to see MetroPCS would sell a phone like this in the market. Of course rooting fixes that but out of the box its basically a defected phone.

Thats why I bought my Galaxy Indulge within 2 weeks of getting my optimus as I got fed up. My Indulge hasn't given me any problems at all.

Been right here man, you just gotta speak up... :)

Do your self a favor and start reading up in all things root before you get the new phones.

You will need to learn to downgrade, root, flash recovery, and flash roms.

It sounds like a lot but it really isn't that bad. Downgrading will be the hardest, once your downgraded rooting and flashing the recovery can be done easily with apps. Flashing the rom after thats all done is cake.

Any questions, don't be afraid to ask. We didn't even laugh at the guy who had airplane mode on the other day wondering why his wifi didn't work... ;)

Can't help w the rom but here's a good laugh. I seen this thread on my app and tapped the link and my phone rebooted lol. I had the issue real bad at stock though. Went to 2.2.1 from 2.2 and flashed sense run its gotten way better. I had rom zero on 2.2 even that was better than stock as far as reboots. It rarely happens now but it was so funny it did it clicking on the link lil. Also my sticker is red so it has had water damage.

I looked at the devices that are listed at CyanogenMod and the LG Optimus M is not there. I am new to this so I do not want to "BRICK" my phone, but Cyanogen ROM looks great.

Yeah we're not "officially" supported by CyanogenMod. But, we have good developers that have built 3 nearly perfect and up to date CM7 roms. The CM7 roms in all things root here are all based off InferiorHumanOrgans, it's a branch of CM made for optimus phones. We are as close to supported as you can get without being on that page, lol.

The problem is your probably open and closing many apps at a time. Either close them by going to Settings > Applications > Running, or mod it with a rom and overclock it. Im running at 768mhz and havent gotten a freeze or restart. I dont go crazy and opening alot of stuff either. Just a thought

When I first got the phones I went nuts with mine and yes it was bad, but the other phone did the same thing with nothing other then the stock os on it. As for the second phones................ nothing open and try to make a phone call......reboot  ..........on the web and waiting for the webpage to load...........freeze and or reboot  ...........trying to type a text message........freeze and or reboot :( .....trying to get HOME and using navigator...................reboot......reboot.....reboot . I removed the apps that I downloaded, and only do one thing at a time.

It has nothing to do with apps. My girlfriend has a stock phone that she does nothing on. If she so much as opens the calculator the thing crashes. It's the operating system. My phone does not reboot unless I hit power and choose reboot...

CM7 fixes everything wrong with these phones.

The only time i got a freeze or restart was when i Overlocked at over 800mhz. Which the reason that happend was because i was swiping the screen too much.

I do small tweaks to make it go fast. like make the animations fast. (Spare parts in CM7)...

Also, i make the text smaller and a few other things. PM me if u need any more tips. OH by the way im using a live wallpaper too and it doesn't go slow at all.
