Just bought one @ 6:30 in SoCal at a boost store in Ontario... So some stores do have them in stock! lil-bit heavier, feels strong and solid, screen is noticeably bigger, web (over WiFi) is much faster and over all much less lag. Havent had much time to play with it yet, BUT one real BAD noticeable difference is, its missing ShabbyMod . i hope yall get root fast! it needs it!

I got very lucky, there was one store near me that got a shipment of them in yesterday. I picked it up but hadn't opened the package or activated it yet, because I hadn't gotten my screen protector in the mail and I wasn't about to use it without having that covered first.

My cousin had bought one with me yesterday too and had already gotten a screen protector. I looked around on the menus on her phone and specs and everything. I had a Prevail before that I bought on ebay, had it glitch and sent it to Samsung, and then sold it on Craigslist when I got it back for what I bought it for. Made me skeptical about getting this new one right at launch. But eh, what the hell...

I finally opened the package today because the screen protector came, but I'm giving it some time to charge before I activate it. I'll list everything that I think people would want to know about it. The screen is 3.5 inches, feels sturdier than the Prevail just because it weighs more. Just powering it on, the little jingle it plays when the Boost logo shows is different. It also starts up saying "Welcome to Boost mobile" and says we will now activate your device, which I've cancelled. Same 5 home screens like the Prevail. It has that Boost ID thing in the launcher at the bottom instead of the browser like the Prevail had.

Specs.. I'm listing everything I see just to cover all bases..

Found under About phone...
Model number - SPH-M930BST
Android version - 2.3.4
Baseband version - S:M930.02 x.EG29
Kernel version - 2.6.35.7
Build number - GINGERBREAD.EG29
Hardware version - M930.02

Found under Status... only useful thing...
Mobile network type - CDMA - EvDo rev. A

Listed under Internal phone storage, it says Available space 0.93 GB. I have not downloaded or added anything to the phone, when I go to Manage Applications, for Internal storage, it has 59MB used and 0.93 GB free, again.

I like the texture on the back of the phone. The SD card is only accessible after removing the battery cover, which comes off just as easily as the Prevail did. I like that there's not a little SD card cover thing. Just a nice touch.

Those are just a few things I noticed so far, comparisons to the Prevail. If this info is listed somewhere else already, sorry for reposting old news. I just had seen specs were asked about and shared what I could see.

If I missed anything, let me know.

I did a benchmark test 10 times with Quadrant Standard and it gave these score results: 2331, 2116, 2408, 2228, 2213, 2293, 2331, 2242, 2202, 2351 (Ave 2271.5)
It took 41-45 seconds to do the full test.

And says the Transform Ultra its way faster than these phones:
Nexus 2.2+ (Ave About 1300)
Metro Droid 2.2+ (Ave About 1250)
HTC Evo 2.2+ (Ave About 1150)
Metro Droid X (Ave About 1100)
Samsung Galaxy S (Ave About 800)
Nexus One (Ave About 500)
HTC Desire (Ave About 500)
SE Xperia X10i (Ave About 450)
Moto Droid (Ave About 350)
HTC Magic (Ave About 250)

Tested the Prevail 5 times: 561, 556, 576, 569, 559 (Ave 564.2)
And fell between Samsung Galaxy S and Nexus One
It took 59-62 seconds to do the full test

Question?
when does this phone get enough status to receive its own sub-forum?

I am from MN and I bought the phone the day it came out. Only place I could find it was Mobile 1 Wireless on Arcade in St. Paul.

You might already have the phone by now though, but if not, their number is 651-771-1858. Be warned though, all sales are final.
thanks alekia, yeah i actually havent got the phone yet. I'm waiting for my check to come in on Thursday and grab it since i spend it over the weekend already. just wondering are you grandfather $50 shrinkage? or you paying that extra $5?

Nope, as soon as you activate this phone it will go up to the new price plan, and then your monthly payment date will change to when you activated the phone. For me, I was down to $45 which I paid on 9/27, my monthly payment date. I activated the phone on 10/10 and had to pay $28 to get my account caught up, and now it's paid through the 9th of next month.

Basically they'll charge you for the time you had the previous price plan and credit you for the unused time, and you have to make up that difference, pro-rated basically. Kinda lame, didn't want to change my payment date but it's cool. In two more payments I'll be back down to $45. You do keep the shrinkage that you've already earned.

What sucks is it does not change this around automatically when you activate the phone online, you have to call and talk to a rep which for me is close to torture, but it worked out and I got it going.

Oh and be sure to use callingmart when adding money and everything, avoid those stupid taxes. Or add money in the store when you buy it, should be tax free, I've heard.
