My nexus one now has multitouch but along with that came unwanted side effects. The device is slower and choppier than ever before. FYI, I used the manual update method using the file directly from google's site.

-screen touch calibration is constantly off
-slower overall performance
-increase latency of loading of pages in browser
-sometimes notification of text messages are delayed until unlocking

not sure but:
-youtube video playback seems to be lower much lower quality

Any one else noticing this or am I losing my mind?

I received the update Thursday night and didn't notice a change in my phone's behavior or responsiveness. Multi-touch works good and the 3G connectivity issue is better, but not perfect.

According to Battery Usage -> Cell Standby my time without a signal is 3% when it was 24 - 25% before the update. So in that respect I've seen a huge improvement, but while I spend more time in 3G I do find myself back down to Edge with little to no bars from time to time. I'm in metropolitan Phoenix so I should be stable. Should be...

A little annoying, but I'm sure they'll fix it eventually.

That's my take on all of this. Things will get fixed and I'm fine with that.

Google wants to compete with Apple and will be updating the platform as time goes on. That seems to be the new model and a great departure from the Pocket PC days when you had to buy the next OS upgrade from Microsoft.
